If you haven’t jumped on the The 1975 bandwagon, you better hop on soon because these British lads are quickly making a name for themselves here in the U.S. Their single “Chocolate” is so damn catchy and their debut album is by way one of the best this year.

Chelsea Briggs caught up with Matt Healy and George Daniel backstage at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards at SXSW in Austin, Texas. She got the low-down on how their handling their crazy hectic year, when we can expect new music, as well the possibility of a documentary!

Having been together as a band for 10 years, we can only imagine the up’s and down’s The 1975 have gone through. Fortunately, there’s a slight chance we may get a look!

“You know what’s funny is we’ve been making a film about the band since we were 16. We started putting it together now and if you look at some of the footage it’s amazing,” lead singer Matt Healy explained. As for the release of the documentary goes, Matt said, “We’ll see what happens.” Fingers crossed, you guys!

While we wait to feast our eyes on this mysterious The 1975 documentary, we’ll also be waiting ever-so-patiently for some brand new tunes! According to Matt, they’re definitely hard at work on a new album. “We’re writing music at our own pace and enjoying it. It’ll be available for consumption next year,” he said.
