It's been a helluva year for both One Direction and the Directioners who love them. With losing Zayn, twitter feuds, and a baby on the way, it seemed like everything that could have happened, did happen... until today when People and E! News confirmed that our favorite boys would be splitting off into four different directions. You may be thinking, "wow... the hits just keep on coming," but don't fret just yet, there is a silver lining to today's news.
After years on the road together, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson, have decided to take an extended break from the band beginning in March 2016 in order to work on their own projects. According to People, the group - who recently released "Drag Me Down," their first single as a foursome - will continue working together on their fifth studio album, but will not be touring next year.
Obviously, this is a devastating blow for Directioners, but it's important to remember that this "break" is not a "break-up." Sources told E! News that "They will remain together and plan to work together in the future," and another source added "They love working together... They envision a future together but with the freedom to do other things as well."
The great thing is, we've still got them until February, and the good thing is that four directions, means four times as much music.
So, here's hoping they go the way of Ross + Rachel, and ultimately end up back together... in one direction.
