When Lindsay Lohan launched her self tanner line Sevin Nyne, she claimed that it took her and her business partner, Lorit Simon, three years to come up with the perfect formula for the product.
This apparently is not so. A chemist named Jennifer Sunday is claiming that she and Simon are the ones who developed the product. They got so close to releasing it to the public that they were in negotiations over how much to charge for it.
Now, according to Jennifer’s attorney
, she is seeking the proceeds from the self tanning mist.
Her attorney, Marcia Cohen, said, “We are certainly looking for the profits that are being generated right now from that product. If Ms. Lohan and Ms. Simon and their companies and their shareholders are profiting from the theft of my client’s formula and are profiting from that product, my client is entitled to those proceeds.”
Sunday filed a lawsuit against Lindsay and Lorit Simon in a Tampa federal court for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices.
Sevin Nyne launched a couple of months ago and is currently being sold for $35 a pop at Sephora.
