'Lost Boys' Actor Corey Haim Dies at 38

Corey Haim, a teen heartthrob in the 80s for his roles in Lucas and The Lost Boys died at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10th, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Los Angeles. He was 38.

He was taken to the hospital by ambulance from an apartment in Los Angeles near Burbank. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Police Sgt. William Mann to the Associated Press, "Haim had flu-like symptoms before he died and was getting over-the-counter and prescription medications. The cause of death is unknown... He could have succumbed to whatever (illness) he had or it could have been drugs. Who knows? He has had a drug problem in the past."
Haim was open about his drug problems. In an interview on Larry King Live, he calls himself "a chronic relapser for the rest of my life."
I feel for the guy. He struggled his entire life. I also feel for his longtime friend Corey Feldman, who I'm sure has dealt with many friends passing away at a young age due to drug abuse.

In his official blog today, Corey Feldman revealed his shock when he was given the tragic news:
R.I.P. COREY IAN HAIM 1971-2009
I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived. ~ Corey
Our deep condolences to all of Haim's family and friends.
