Queen Latifah Speaks Out About Sexual Abuse To 'Essence' Magazine
Queen Latifah is being featured on the July cover of Essence magazine. During her interview she opens up about being sexually abused as a child and how it has made an impact on her as an adult.
Latifah says the abuse came from one of her teenage babysitters.
He violated me. I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me.
That distance made such an impact on Latifah that it created commitment issues. She says she could have been married by now if not for the traumatic experience.
