Lucy J Kim is suing Miley Cyrus for $4 million over the photo of her goofing around with friends imitating Asian people.
Lucie J. Kim claims to represent more than 1 million Asian Pacific Islanders who live in L.A. County. Kim claims when Cyrus posed for the photo, she “knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which Cyrus knew focused on her private life, specifically TMZ.”
Kim says in the suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, that each Asian Pacific Islander is entitled to the minimum damages for a civil rights violation
Kim says Miley’s “just a kid” defense doesn’t fly. She says it’s like Paris Hilton claiming to be just a kid. Ouch.
Miley’s peeps could not immediately be reached for comment.
This is ridiculous. It is just a stupid picture with teenagers having fun. Yeah it’s kind of offensive but come on. I really doubt that Kim was truely offended by it. The greedy bitch.

If this lawsuit actually goes through and Miley has to pay, I will lose all faith in our justice system. On second thought I think I will contact my lawyer and sue George Lopez for making fun of white people. But who am I kidding, that case would never see the inside of a court room.

It’s $4 billion!!!!! Not $4 million! $4 BILLION!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!
Ok I have to say something about this. I commented on the last article about this picture that I live in the middle of China and no one here cares one way or the other about Miley Cyrus. I live in a “medium sized” Chinese city of a mere 6.5 million people, I’ve travelled all over the country from Beijing to Lhasa, and I’ve never met one person here who has ever heard of her.
This is a money-grab, ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake about that. I have one of my Chinese friends here right now, and I just asked her what she thought about the picture. Her immediate response was, “It’s a good picture!” Then I explained what the kids in the picture were doing with their eyes, and I explained who Miley Cyrus was because she had no idea (even though we had finished watching ‘Bolt’ not an hour earlier), and then explained that American Chinese were offended by what they were doing with their eyes and wanted her to pay $4 BILLION!!
She agreed then that she could understand why some Asian people would be angry about it, but then she asked, “Why money? Pay to who? For what? What’s the use of paying for a picture?”
I agree, although the most obvious thing to me is that Miley probably seems like an easy target for what is obviously a money-hungry interest group. And I’d also like to know who came up with that figure, because they may like to mosey on in to a mental hospital and have their head examined. Whatever the case, regardless of the benevolent services of this interest group to the Asian community, this legal action is one small step below extortion and leaps and bounds into the realm of insanity.
If they were really interested in protecting the Asian image from thoughtless celebrities, why is it that no American Chinese interest groups seemed to mind that Penelope Cruz, in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, in a single scene essentially called the Chinese language both ugly and irrelevent? Not one complaint from an interest group, even when Cruz was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance??
My theory is that they probably understand that Cruz and Woody Allen have much better lawyers and legal experience, whereas with a kid, like Miley, they can probably scare her into settling out of court by throwing a figure at her that would ruin even her young, famous life.
This must be, by far, the stupidest legal action I’ve ever seen attempted in my life.
Don’t give them a dime, Miley! Counter-sue! They’re trying to steal from you!

Oh, and what about the FIVE other people in the picture who are squinting their eyes? How much are they being sued for? And is the Filipino guy going to be sued for squinting his eyes naturally? Or for being like, an accessory to the crime? I’d like to hear this Lucy J. Kim explain about this…

I think it is stupid to sue her for this! They are kids being kids. They know she has money. If this was any regular teenager nothing would be thought of the picture.

either way, miley cyrus is still a dumb whore, who needs some punishment in her life.
