‘The Hills’ is Back for Season 4… and It Kinda Disappoints

Posted on 19 August 2008 by Jessca

It seems like just yesterday I was munching on popcorn, watching last season’s finale of The Hills, wondering what would become of Lauren, Lo, and Audrina’s shattered friendship. This past Monday marked season four’s premiere of the popular MTV series and sadly enough, it didn’t live up to the suspense that had developed over the summer.

When we left the Hollywood crew at the beginning of the summer, Heidi and Spencer had reconciled for the fiftieth time and he moved back into her apartment (or his?); Lauren, Lo and Audrina were silently at each other’s throats; Spencer’s sister was stirring up all sorts of trouble; and Whitney was, well, being cute little Whitney. Last night we found out that not much has changed, or will change, this season.

Heidi’s sister (did we even know she had a sister?) arrived for a surprise visit from Colorado, much to sullen Spencer’s chagrin. Spencie threw a tantrum, especially when her sister mentioned moving to LA. Looks like that relationship will never be without conflict.

Lauren dates another cutie who looks pretty much like Brody, swearing that she hasn’t been on a date since she met Brody (um, didn’t she go on, like, 50 dates last season?!). The roommates are still on edge and after Lo disappears at the birthday party that her and Lauren threw for Audrina, Lo and Audrina have the awkward “this is your fault, no it’s your fault, Lauren is my friend” disagreement. The dagger was finally thrown by Audrina, who boldly tells Lo that they will never be friends.

Whitney was still cute little Whitney.

Previews for the coming season outline nothing new - the girls’ feud continues, Spencer’s sister and Lauren get in some kind of friction involving Lauren’s new boy, Audrina and Justin Bobby fool around, blah blah. Whitney meets a boy though! Go Team Whitney!

I’m not sure what I expected, but it was definitely more than this. Not that I’m complaining; I still plan on rejecting all calls/texts/emails that come in Monday nights at 10pm. After all, it’s The Hills! I can’t wait for next week.

I heart whit. I thought last season was kinda blah compare to Season 2 anyways, but this one looks more promising. And I think once you realize Spencer is “playing a character” the shit he says is funnier,, he just takes every opportunity he has to be grumpy and mean.

Ya, I think Spence’s character is so ridiculous–it’s prob great for him now cuz he’s making $$ but where can it possibly lead? He just looks like the ultimate d-bag and Heidi the lamest of lame weak females.
