  And we thought the Grammy’s couldn’t get any better! Yesterday we reported that Adele had been added to the performing lineup during the big night, but now another big name will also be taking the stage – Katy Perry!

  Yes, that’s right! Not only will this be one of her first public appearances, but televised performance since her very public split from Russell Brand.

  Katy finished up her California Dreams world tour a couple weeks ago and has been pretty much MIA when it comes to public appearances.

  Katy Perry has had one successful year! So successful, in fact, MTV named her THE artist of 2011! With a seven-judge panel, the network counted down the top 10 artists that helped shape 2011 into a year that was filled with unforgettable music.

  It all began in 2010 when Perry released her second album Teenage Dream that helped her break record after record, even taking over Michael Jackson’s music chart throne.

  Katy Perry has had hectic year! Her record-breaking second album Teenage Dream has had five #1 singles (making her the first female in history to have such an accomplishment), she wed funnyman Russell Brand, she’s been nominated for every music award possible, plus she’s about to wrap up her 122-city California Dream tour.

  You would think that she would want some time to herself for a little while. Not even close! It’s been announced that Perry will be the host of the December 10th episode of Saturday Night Live!

  Katy Perry shows off a different side to her Teenage Dream-self in the teaser for her upcoming video The One That Got Away.

  In the video, she shows her relationship with Mexican movie starDiego Luna from looks of longing to a hurtful breakup as a voice-over carries us throughout the clip.

  Talk about an accomplishment!  Katy Perry has just tied Michael Jackson's Billboard record! Both the Firework singer and MJ have had five songs from one album hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

  This also means that Perry is the FIRST woman to achieve this musical honor! 

  The 26-year-old singer’s hit tune Last Friday Night took the top spot on the Hot 100 this week, ousting LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem.
