Kanye West ruining Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMA’s is one of those television moments that will go down in pop culture history.

And from that infamous moment, the pop world has received a new catch phrase, “I’ma let you finish” from Kanye’s now-classic speech, “Yo Taylor.  I’m really happy for you.  I’ma let you finish, but Beyonce had the best video of all time.  Of all time.”

Rumor is going around that the whole Kanye West stealing the mic from Taylor Swift stunt was planned.  Apparently, it was at the request of Jay-Z.  MTV execs reportedly asked Jay if he would perform at the VMAs, and he said he would under one condition, that somehow his wife Beyonce was made to look good and given a performance of her own.  This is were Kanye steps in:

This was all a huge publicity stunt set up by Jay-Z. MTV wanted him to perform at the end of the show and he said on one condition – they gave Beyonce a performance and made her look good.  And so, the whole Taylor Swift fiasco was born.  Jay called up Kanye and asked him to do it for him because Kanye doesn’t mind being seen as a jackass and it’d be believable if he did it.  So when Beyonce let Taylor finish her speech instead of making her own speech, everyone thought “Wow, Beyonce really is a class act!” and Jay-Z finished off the show with his performance.

I think all of us figured there was something fishy going on.  But somehow I still can’t believe this is true.  Poor Taylor, her first VMA moment was completely ruined.  If this rumor is true, Jay and MTV should be next in line to apologize.

Celebs are coming out and showing their support to Taylor Swift after Kanye West took the mic out of her hand during  her acceptance speech. Celebs have taken to Twitter, and here is what they’ve said:

Pink: “Kanye west is the biggest piece of s**t on earth. Quote me. My heart goes out to taylor swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her. Joe Jackson comments to TMZ: “I had just gotten through speaking to him, he was introducing me to his girlfriend (Amber Rose) and then three minutes later he jumped up on stage. And people booed Kanye all night.. I don’t know what he was doing, he jumped up on stage and snatched that microphone out of that poor girl’s hand. They should blackball him out of showbusiness for that. He just leapt (sic) up there; that was bad.”

Kelly Clarkson decided not to be short and to the point with her outrage and wrote on her blog:

Dear Kanye,
What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??
I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.
On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!

All of us were outraged by Kanye West’s disrespectful behavior when he snagged Taylor Swift’s mic as she was enthusiastically accepting her VMA for Best Female Video, and pretty much told the audience that Beyonce deserved the award over Taylor.

Kanye was asked to leave the VMAs shortly after he crashed the stage, once again.Yay! Good riddance.

Kanye later posted an apology on his blog. He wrote: “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM.  I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD HAVE SAID.  SHE IS VERY TALENTED!  I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS!………….I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!……………BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!!  I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!!  I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV.  I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW.  WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!!  EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I”M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!!  NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE…WELL YOU KNOW!!!!  I’M STILL HAPPY FOR YOU TAYLOR!!!!  BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!!  YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!!  I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME…THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!  I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL.  SORRY FOR THAT!!!  I RALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!!  MUCH RESPECT!!!!!”

Kanye added to his apology today saying: “I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave,” West wrote Monday on his blog. “That was Taylor’s big moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.”

FYI Kanye had apparently been hitting a bottle of Hennessy pretty hard before the ceremony. So I guess he could kinda blame it on the ah-ah-ah-alcohol.

My love and respect goes out to Beyonce who when accepting her Video of the Year Award, handed the stage over to Taylor so she could complete her acceptance speech.
