  Ah, Saw 3D. The promise of the seventh serving of torture porn from a bloated franchise that’s been mutilating people for our viewing pleasure for nearly a decade. It’s clear by now that the mainstreaming of 3D is paving the way for lots of long-dead franchises to thrust one more installment upon us, but few others show so little effort in any other area than Saw 7, and it’s currently commanding a whopping 10% on the Tomatometer and the #1 movie in theaters. God bless America.

  Okay, so first of all, get that "Disney's" out of your head. This is, and always has been, Dicken's A Christmas Carol, and perhaps the strongest of the many strengths of Robert Zemeckis' new adaptation of the classic novel is how faithful it is to the source material.
