Jim, who is best known for his role as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, revealed that he is gay in a profile post by The New York Times. The profile is three pages long and goes through Jim's path to stardom and about his upcoming role in the Broadway play Harvey, but the one sentence that caught everyone's attention read, "'The Normal Heart' resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working again onstage was like a nourishment, he said."

It all began in February 2011 when high schooler Cady Eimer started an online campaign asking Justin to escort her to her prom. She created the website OneLessLonelyProm and tweeted Justin over-and-over again, hoping to gain his attention.
