    Every year since 1976 ABC has had the honor of airing the Academy Awards and thanks to a new deal between the two it will remain that way until 2020.

    The Academy's board of governors approved the deal to extend the existing contract with ABC, which was due to expire in 2014. The deal is only for U.S. airing rights, as the international rights are covered by a different agreement.
