Katie Price and her husband, Alex Reid, are considering adoption.

Katie, who has three children with ex-husband Peter Andre, spoke about adopting a child from Bulgaria saying,
I saw a documentary on TV about kids abandoned in Bulgaria and it affected me because they all have disabilities. They are either blind or have learning difficulties and their parents don’t want them so they abandon them. I think about adoption every day, but not yet.
However, it’s now being reported that she is considering adopting from Haiti, since so many children have been left orphaned from the tragic earthquake.
As for her husband, Alex, he’s not sure if he is capable of having children and his friend told the Daily Star,
He has always joked that he worries he may not be able to have kids. He was with his ex Marie for years and they never used protection when they had sex. We all hope it’s not true because he would make an amazing dad.
I think adoption is a great option for Price and her husband, even if they can have their own children. They are in a position where they can give a needy child a better life. So why not adopt? What do you think?

Ginnifer Goodwin star of HBO’s “Big Love” has a special message this holiday season. With 36 days left between now and Thanksgiving, Ginnifer has aligned with Farm Sanctuary and is serving as the groups official 2009 spokesperson. Together Ginnifer and Farm Sanctuary would like you to Adopt-A-Turkey.

So what is Farm Sanctuary and just what is the Adopt-A-Turkey campaign? Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization and the Adopt-A-Turkey campaign serves to “end the misery of commercially-raised turkeys by educating the public about the horrific cruelties endured by these gentle beings by offering a compassionate alternative for Thanksgiving.”

You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to join in on this cause but I’m sure the turkey’s would be thankful if you ate a tofurky this Thanksgiving. To learn more about this cause, check out http://www.adoptaturkey.org

Here is the first released family photo of Katherine Heigl, Josh Kelley, and their new little girl, Naleigh.
The couple’s rep said in a statement, “Katherine, Josh and Naleigh are together and doing well.”
Katherine and Josh adopted the adorable 10 month old Naleigh from South Korea. Baby Naleigh was named after Katherine’s mother, Nancy and her sister Margaret Leigh, who was also adopted from Korea.
She revealed: “It’s been a big part of my life and my family. My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do. I just wanted to make sure that I was marrying a guy who understands that this was going to have to happen. Not everybody is down with that, not everybody thinks that.”
According to reports Katherine and Josh have been waiting in anticipation for this new little child since late last year.
“Katie and Josh were aware it could take years, so they were being patient. They are thrilled to have a child in their lives, no matter what the challenges.”
Speaking to Ellen Degeneres, Katherine said, “About a year ago is when we said, ‘OK, let’s start the process,’ and the process is intense.”
Congrats to the new parents and we are happy that the adoption process is over and that baby Naleigh is safely home with them.

According to Radar, Grey’s Anatomy’s Katherine Heigl and her musician husband Josh Kelley are adopting a baby this week.
“She and Josh are so happy,” the source said.
The couple have wanted a baby for a while now, the adoption process has been in the works for at least six months.
The baby girl is from Korea. Her full name is Naleigh, and she is approximately 10 months old.
The idea of adoption is nothing new for the actress, as she told USA Today two years ago that it’s something she’s always planned.
“I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children. [It] doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”
Katherine is on leave of absence from Grey’s and starts filming her new movie “Life As We Know It” next week.

Looks like Madonna wont be getting the 3 year old Malawi girl she was hoping to adopt. Judge Esme Chombo denied Madonna’s petition for adoption this week because Madonna is not a resident of Malawi. She was rich lucky enough to have this rule waived back in 2006 when she adopted David Banda, but I am sure this time her divorce and recent love interest played a role.

I am glad Madonna’s petition was denied. I am still trying to figure out why she is adopting children who have family members caring for them. If she really wants to give a child a chance sponsor the whole family so they can stay together or adopt a child that has no loved ones around to care for them. What do you think? If you want to know what the judge said click here.

Angelina Jolie appeared on the ‘The Today Show’ this morning to promote her new movie The Changeling, which looks to be a real tear jurker. Looking beautiful and radiant she didn’t mind talking about her twins. She also announced that the rumors about she and Brad Pitt adopting are true and they actually have the next child they want in mind.
Checkout what else Angie said to Matt Lauer:
On adopting:
“You can’t even start the process until any new children are at least six months old,” Jolie said, explaining that adoption agencies want to see how new children are fitting into a household. So the question, she said, is, “When is the right time to bring another child in?”
On Brad Pitt:
“I met the right person. I’m not going to say anything that’s going to embarrass me. I don’t like being without him. I don’t love being alone like I used to be.”
On the kids adapting to new children:
“We have so many children that they’re not really stunned anymore when kids come home.”
On moving around so much:
“The children will probably dictate. One day they’re probably going to want to stay in one place for a very long time, when they start to get friends. So far, we’ve moved them a lot and they like moving. They like making new friends wherever we go.”

I kinda understand why Brad and Angie are adopting, ok, not really. They definitely provide a better life for these kids, no doubt about that. I know the kids aren’t complaining, I mean there family is probably the best family to be adopted into. But I wonder how much time due Brad and Angie actually pend with their kids. I mean they have like 6 nannies for God’s sake. That should say something. I guess as long as the nannies can handle the kids, they’ll keep on adopting.
