Is President-Elect Obama a Natural Born U.S. Citizen?

Posted on 15 November 2008 by Loretta

Rumor is President-elect Barack Obama may have been born in Kenya not Hawaii, which would mean that he is not a ‘natural born’ U.S. citizen.  According to backseatcuddler.com, Obama’s grandmother in Kenya is seen on video stating that Obama was born in her village in Kenya.  In addition to his grandmother, both his half-brother and half-sister say he was born in Kenya.  Check out the clip of his grandmothers interview below.

There are also reports that Obama has yet to provide a valid U.S. birth certificate to prove his birth in Hawaii, but after doing a little bit of investigating on the Internet, I found out that Obama’s campaign put the image of Obama’s birth certificate on the Internet back in mid-2008.  As it turns out , Obama is not the first presidential candidate to have his eligibility challenged.  John McCain, Dick Cheney, and Barry Goldwater have all had their citizenship challenged.  For more information on Obama’s citizenship status and to read more about the laws that effect it, visit snopes.com.

Possible Pooches for President-Elect Obama and his Family

Posted on 08 November 2008 by Loretta

Due to the fact that his 10 year old daughter Malia is allergic to dogs, President-elect Obama is on the search for a hypoallergenic pooch.  There truly isn’t a non-allergic or hypoallergenic dog because all breeds produce some sort of allergens, however, there are what many considered to be hypoallergenic because they have little to no hair and don’t shed.  Here is my list of some possible hypoallergenic dogs that the new Presidential family may be taking with them to the White House:

A Bichon Frisé, who’s name means curly lap dog, is a small breed of the Bichon type of dog.  They are a playful, sensitive, gentle mannered breed of dog.  Even though they are suitable for people with allergies, because they don’t shed, the potential buyer should first visit with a Bichon and test their individual reaction before purchasing.

The Australian Silky Terrier is an intelligent and curious dog that has the energy to keep up the President-elect Obama’s two young daughters.  The average Silky Terrier is around 10 inches at the withers, and weighs in at about 10 pounds.  Their silky textured coat is virtually non-shedding and odorless, making them hypoallergenic for people with allergies to pet hair.

Then of course there is the Poodle.  Who doesn’t love a Poodle?  They come in all sizes and color and are regarded to as one of the most intelligent breeds of dog.  They are skillful in dog sports, obedience, tracking, and herding.  Poodles have curly non-shedding hair that requires regular grooming.

Next we have a spunky breed of pooch called the Chinese Crested dog.  The Chinese Crested comes in two varieties, “Hairless” and “Powderpuff.”  The hairless has human-like skin that is soft and fur on its paws, tail, and head.  Sam, a famous hairless Chinese Crested dog was named the “World’s Ugliest Dog” from 2003 to 2005.

Last on my list is the always elegant Shih Tzu.  Shih Tzu’s are recognized for their long, flowing, colorful coats and are intelligent, friendly, and energetic.  The average height for a Shih Tzu is 9 to 10 1/2 inches and they weigh between 9 and 16 pounds.  They have little to no shedding, making them a favorite amongst people with allergies.

These are just a few of the hypoallergenic dogs out there.  For the full list visit wikipedia.com.

What breed do you think President-elect Obama will choose?

Barack Obama Can’t Trick-or-Treat with His Kids

Posted on 31 October 2008 by Loretta

This Halloween will be the first year that Barack Obama won’t be taking his daughters trick-or-treating.

During Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on Friday morning, Obama said,

When I go out, it becomes a big scene.  Last year, I wore a rubber mask so people didn’t know who I was, and we were able to have a great time.

Obama also talked to Ryan about election day, saying,

On Tuesday, I’ll vote first thing in the morning, then take the girls to school and then we’ll fly to a state fairly close to home that is a battle ground state.

I’ll do some campaigning and hand shaking and all that good stuff.

As for an election day tradition, Obama will play basketball….A tradition he started in Iowa.  “Hopefully I won’t break my nose for the big night, get an elbow in the teeth,” Joked Obama.

Sarah Silverman is Calling All Jews to Support Obama

Posted on 25 September 2008 by mynameisjuno

Barack’s got another celebrity on his long list of famous supporters. According to Sarah Silverman, Barack Obama is the ‘goodest person we’ve ever had as a presidential choice’ to help Americans stop being labeled as the ‘a–holes of the Universe.’

Silverman is starting a campaign to get all American Jews to get their butts to Florida for The Great Schlep. Watch the video to find out what she’s talking about.

Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Barack Obama

Posted on 07 August 2008 by Loretta

A man by the name of Raymond Hunter Geisel was arrested on Saturday, August 2nd, for threatening to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and President George W. Bush.

Geisel , a resident of Bangor, Maine, who was in Florida attending a bail bondsman’s course, was in class when he allegedly said, “That nigger, if he gets elected, I’ll assassinate him myself.” And on a different occasion a witness over heard Geisel say that, “he hated Bush and wanted to put a bullet in his head.”

Geisel was interviewed by U.S. Secret Service agent’s in Miami and denied ever making any threats against Obama or Bush, however he did state, “that if he wanted to kill Senator Obama he simply would shoot him with a sniper rifle, but then claimed that he was just joking.”

Miami police searched Geisel’s car and hotel room and found a cache of ammunition, that included armour piercing bullets and a handgun. Although, the police did not state whether or not Geisel was preparing for an actual assassination attempt. Geisel is being held at Miami’s downtown detention center without bail.

Brody Jenner endorses Barack Obama

Posted on 14 April 2008 by Travis Snyder

brodyobama.jpg

The Hills stars have officially gone political–well, some of them at least.  First it was Heidi Montag who went on record stating she is endorsing Sen. John McCain for President.  Next, Lauren Conrad announced that she would not be endorsing a candidate, recognizing that we don’t care, or at least shouldn’t care, who anyone from The Hills votes for.  And now, Brody Jenner  has failed to follow Lauren’s lead as he is openly supporting Sen. Barack Obama.
“He’s just cool!” Brody said Saturday at the Wrigley party for the NBA Entertainment League at Club LAX in L.A.  “I mean, he’s young and I think people would take us more seriously with Iraq and everything…Personally, I think we’re either going to have a woman president or we’re going to have a black president, which are both amazing.  Right now it’s time for change and I think both of them are great.  But [Obama] is cool. I just think he’s cool.”
