Hillary Clinton is among many in the Nation’s Capital to embrace the latest in green automobiles. While GM just revealed the new VOLT, Hillary has been photographed in a GEM car (Global Electric Motors owned by the Chrysler company).
According to their website, “these low speed vehicles can be driven on public roads if they meet certain safety criteria such as having safety belts, headlamps, windshield wipers, and safety glass. GEM cars are available in six unique models and are seen in cities, master planned communities, universities and colleges, industrial complexes, security companies, airports, and resorts throughout the world.”
Hillary is all smiles in this GEM.
If the name GEM sounds familiar, it could be that you recognize these cars from this year’s BET Awards where Fonzworth Bentley, Raz B and actor Jimmy Jean-Louis pulled up to the awards show in supreme, sustainable style.

Fun facts about GEM cars:
“To date, GEM cars have been driven more than 350 million emission-free miles, saved more than 16 million gallons of gasoline, and prevented more than 180 tons of ozone-producing pollutants from reaching the air!”
GEM cars are street legal in nearly all 50 states on public roads posted at 35 mph or less.

It’s always great to see examples from leading politicians and entertainers regarding the simple actions they take to go green. Besides riding in a GEM car, Hillary Clinton has tried to lend a voice and a hand. Several of her legislative proposals have been related to energy and the environment. Fonzworth just released his new single, “Greener” and Raz B attended the 2nd Annual Green With Music event back in February of this year.
Okay so, if you watched the BET awards then Im sure you were thinking the same thing as everyone else… When is Chris Brown going to come out and do something for MJ? Well he never did and everyone is talking about it. A source claims that Jay-Z threatened to cancel he and B’s performance if Chris Beater Brown was allowed to perform his scheduled tribute to Michael Jackson. Jay supposedly used his authority in the industry to get revenge on Brown for his assault on his protégé RiRi. BET’s decision to cut out Brown led to Ne-Yo and Jamie Foxx were playing extra songs to fill up time in the show time slot. Other sources are claiming that Brown and his handlers begged BET to reconsider but that BET executives feared that allowing Brown to take the stage, as his personal drama may have overshadowed Michael’s tribute.
And just to add to the drama, one of Brown’s dancers, B. Shaw, tweeted…
Jay-Z is mad childish. Never keep a person from paying their respect.
So Jay-Z tells BET that if chris performs that he will not perform. Ummmm… Wait for it… WHO CARES!!!
In my own opinion I think BET did the right thing. Regardless that the kid is talented or not HE PLED GUILTY for beating the crap out of a woman and the fact that he didn’t go to jail is crazy so him not being able to preform is a small price to pay. Good Job Jay! And the dancer should just shut up about it and realize that his 15 minutes of fame is still just being in the background, not only in the background but in Chris Brown’s background…eww.
Oh yea B. Shaw…. you know what is really ‘mad childish’, Beating a woman until her eyes are swollen shut and blood is leaking out of her face.
