‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Nina Dobrev Gets Personal in Seventeen Magazine

Posted on 04 March 2010 by ksouthall

Nina Dobrev of the cover of Seventeen Magazine
Young and on fire, Nina Dobrev gets personal with Seventeen Magazine in the April issue that features her on the cover. She dishes the deets on her hit show on CW, Vampire Diaries, her hot co-stars and more! Check out some of the interview highlights below.

Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley

On the fans of Vampire Diaries:

“We had a couple six-year-olds who came to a signing and actually thought that Ian Somerhalder [who plays Damon] was a vampire, and they were terrified of him. We had this one little girl go up to him, and she was really shy, and her mom was like, ‘She has something to tell you.’ And Ian leaned over and was like, ‘What is it, sweetheart?’, and the little girl says, ‘Try to be a good boy.’ And he was like, ‘Okay, sweetie… for you, I’ll try.’”

On Co-Star Paul Wesley:

“The first time Paul [Wesley] and I met, I met nine other guys as well because I had already been cast and they were deciding for the Stefan role. I had to read with like 30 studio executives, and they were just kind of watching and analyzing because that was the whole point of the test…they wanted to see who had the best chemistry. And everyone was great, but Paul had this old soul, like a history that you could feel…he seemed like he’d been around longer, and knew more, and he had a grasp for the character different from anyone else.”

On dating a co-star:

“I think it could definitely get sticky if you dated your costar. To be completely honest, dating an actor is very complicated. There’s a lot of vanity involved. And they’re in their head, and they’re kind of crazy. And you’re always surrounded by beautiful people. I would prefer not to date an actor.”

Jessica Simpson Talks John Mayer: “I Don’t Want People To Know How I Am In Bed!”

Posted on 04 March 2010 by ksouthall

Jessica Simpson opens up to Oprah about many things, including the controversy over her weight and that John Mayer interview.  It has been three weeks since the explosive interview John Mayer did for Playboy Magazine, and Jessica Simpson is finally speaking out. Jessica expressed her disappointed in John. She admits that she could not read the article, it was too hard for her.  She knew what he said about her through snippets and what people told her.  She tried to read it, but could not.  Who could blame her?  Your ex goes on and on about intimate moments in a national publication and it’s all people can talk about.  It’s a complete violation.

Oprah asked Jessica if she was angry, to which Jessica said;

Not I’m not angry, I’m… Well, I am a little bit angry…. I don’t want people to know how I am in bed.”  But she goes on to say, “I guess it could have been a lot worse!  My phone is ringing off the hook, I have to say!”

I bet! Jessica says that John apologized, but that she didn’t accept it. But true to John fashion, the apology was done via text. That’s class!

Jessica Simpson
The worse part, is that she was more angry over everyone calling her fat. She actually said that the whole ‘mom jeans’ fiasco was the lowest point for her over the last few years. The tabloid feeding frenzy prompted Jessica to develop a show for VH1 addressing issues that woman have with their bodies and beauty, called ‘The Price of Beauty‘  She spoke about the fact that was indeed 10 pounds heavier but did not think that she looked bad.  In fact she said that she will never be a size zero and 90 pounds, she likes her curves.  I think after she traveled all over the world filming for her show, she saw that many woman have it much worse.  Jessica donned a full on burqa when in Morocco and says that she now appreciates herself as a woman.

Adam Lambert Admits He Experimented with Drugs

Posted on 28 February 2010 by Loretta

Adam-LambertIn an interview with Britain’s News of The World, Adam Lambert admitted he experimented with drugs and had casual sex with strangers.

Adam said,

I went wild and I was experimenting with certain substances.

It didn’t get to the stage where it ruined my life or where it was anything too serious but it was definitely something I tried.  At 26 I started running with hippies, going to underground events, I was really drawn to that crowd, everyone embraced each other’s differences.

There are so many parents who are too conservative in America.  There are certain drugs out there that are really fun and recreational and can mean a good time.  I’m not an advocate for drugs but it is all rock and roll and we are all adults.

I love the message he is sending to kids…. parents are “too conservative” and drugs “mean a good time.”   What is Adam thinking?

What do you think?
