Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough during happier times

Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks have split up. How sad!  I thought these two kids could make it.  They made such a cute couple, too bad it had to end.

The pair parted ways only 3 months after buying a house together.  Julianne and Chuck seemed so solid when they competed on Dancing with the Stars six months ago, Julianne was quoted in an interview with E! news saying;

“What’s been fun is that we never argued at all.  We’ve had a little tiff here and there, but about dance movements. It was fun. We had this passion. It was fun for us because we never argued.”

The break up was mutual, says source from People, Wick, 30 and Hough, 21, agreed that they just needed time apart.

However, that might be a little awkward tonight because both are scheduled to appear at the CMA Awards. Julianne is going to perform, and Chuck will be doing hosting duties for Entertainment Tonight covering the red carpet pre-show.

Wonder if they will try to avoid each other, ala Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt.  Wouldn’t it be horrible if Chuck had to interview Julianne on the red carpet!

Julianne Hough announced in November that she was going to leave ‘Dancing With The Stars’ to focus on her music career. Which in my opinion was a stupid mistake and apparently her peers thought the same because she’s back. Yay! Although she never really left. And now that she has decided to return to the dance floor, she has been partnered up with her boyfriend. It should be exciting watching those two fight during rehearsals. Couples fighting always makes good television.

“It was a last minute deal. I was set on taking this season off and then last minute the show asked me to do it because they had asked Chuck to do it and they thought it would be cool if we danced together,” Hough said.

“At first I still said no because I wanted to focus on my music,” she added, “BUT then I thought about it for a day and figured this out. I can still write, go on tour and work on Julianne Hough the country singer because Chuck will be my partner and that will be a huge luxury.” (Her boyfriend is Chuck Wicks who is also a country singer).
