Priscilla Presley says good-bye to Dancing With The Stars

The oldest celebrity contestant this season, Priscilla Presley, 62, wasn’t able to dazzle the judges or the voters this time around and was sent home last night.

On Monday, Priscilla and partner Louis Van Amstel received a 21 out of 30 and was told by head judge Len Goodman, “It lacked spontaneity for me. It was too careful. I was disappointed with the performance.”

Priscilla left in good spirits saying, “This has been an incredible experience. It is life-changing. … I learned so much about myself and all the things I can do.”

Adam Corolla voted off ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Adam Corolla voted off ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Although I watch the program every week, I’m really not a huge fan of Dancing With The Stars; but, I must admit that I am very disappointed that Adam Corolla was voted off.  Yeah he is not the most suave dancer, but I so  would’ve sent home Priscilla Presley or Marissa Jaret Winokur waaaaaay before Adam. I’m going to miss him and Julianne Hough dance.

When asked about his experience on DWTS, Adam said:
“I had the time of my life. I lost 20 pounds of fat, and I gained 105 pounds of angel. I love this girl!” Carolla said, referring to partner Julianne Hough, who had a two-season winning streak up to this point.

“I recommend this experience to everyone who’s scared of everything. If something scares you…embrace it,” he added. “Don’t run from it—do it!”

But now, “I’m going to dance my way right to the buffet.”

After the show they appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show to discuss their experience:

DWTS Carrie Ann Inaba was a bald, topless pole dancer

DWTS Carrie Ann Inaba goes bald and topless to be Madonna’s pole dancer

Carrie Ann Inaba is known for being one of the tough judges on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Her extensive resume consists of releasing 3 singles in Japan under Pony Canyon Records, co-founding a dance company with Alexandre Magno (Britney Spears, Madonna) called Personna Productions, being a “Fly Girl” for ‘In Living Color ‘ for 3 years, starring as “Fook Yu” in Austin Powers 3, starting her own digital video production company EnterMediaArts.Inc, and being a bald, topless pole dancer for Madonna’s ‘The Girlie Show’ tour in 1993.
US Asians were very interested in how Carrie Ann got the opportunity to be in Madonna’s show, so they asked her some questions to suet their curiosity.

On performing topless and with a shaven head:

My family still tease me about this. But I loved it! I thought hit was so amazing to be given an opportunity to be a little different, to be edgy, and not what a stereo typical Asian woman is represented as usually. I took it as a challenge. The original idea was for the show to be filled with androgyny. I loved the idea and wanted to find the beauty in that type of performance. It was risque but it was so exciting to see how people reacted to it every night.

Responsibility of opening every tour performance by going down a 50 feet fire pole:

This was huge to me. I took it very seriously. I rarely went out with everyone after the shows because I didn’t have a SWING replacement that could really do what I did and I was hired to do my special routine and did not want to let any one down. I had negotiated pretty hard with them about financial aspects and I felt that I needed to live up to what I said and would be. Before every show, my rigger, Leti Alcala, and I would check the pole and run the routine. You see, since it was dangerous stunt, we had to be careful.

Which choreographer did you work with on your opening “Pole Routine?”

Mostly it was Madonna and I. She knew what she wanted and I was the only one who knew what I could do and how to do it. So we collaborated.

How did this routine come to being created? Did Madonna have the initial idea and then flew out the stripper that inspired the concept?

Yes… she saw the stripper and got the idea.

Were you initially comfortable with going topless during your “Pole Routine?”

I was fine with going topless. At first I was supposed to wear pasties. But honestly, I didn’t like the pasties, they got in the way of the choreography- so I suggested that I go topless. We all agreed it would be more organic that way and it was the true vision so why not be true to the vision. I had only asked that in countries where it may be offensive, I could were a top. They agreed but when we go to Israel, there was no top. I remember being afraid, after all I was a slow moving target.

What was your initial reaction to shaving your head for the entire tour- in addition to being topless?

Well,. I had really long hair at the time and Madonna loved to challenge me and play with me because I guess I’m somewhat of a strong person. But she knew I was working for her so whatever she wanted for the post part went. So, I had 5 really bad haircuts on the way to shaving it. She wanted to keep me a bit different than everyone else so I had some really ugly hair days and she loved putting it up in strange hairstyles for rehearsals. Then she’d say I had to wear my hair like that for the rest of the day.

Spice Girl, Mel B, back for more Dancing with the Stars

Posted on 20 February 2008 by Syndeee

Mel B loved Dancing with the Stars so much that she’s signed a contract with Access Hollywood to be a special correspondent for Dancing with the Stars season. She will be meeting with the new contestants and following throughout their Dancing journey.

Mel B

The new season starts on Monday, March 17th on ABC. Perhaps the most exciting cast yet includes:

Adam Corolla–comedian and radio host. He’ll be paired with reigning champion Julianne Hough. Adam found out who is partner was during his radio show broadcast and promptly told Julianne that he thought dance partners should move in with each other and live together throughout the season. She commented that it had been rumored that she was romantically involved with her previous partners but that it was all untrue.

Shannon Elizabeth–remember her from American Pie and That 70s Show? She’s paired with Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough (the guy who stepped on Jennie Garth’s dress last season–oops!).

Priscilla Presley–yep, Elvis Presley’s one and only wife (she’s also an actress and businesswoman). She’s paired with Louis Van Amstel.

Penn Jillette–Magician/Illusionist of Penn and Teller. We’ll see if he happens to have magical feet. He’s paired with Kym Johnson.

Jason Taylor–NFL Man of the Year–a huge guy: 6′6″ 255lbs! Should make for some interesting dancing. He’s paired with Edyta Sliwinska.

Kristi Yamaguchi–Olympic champion in figure skating. She’s gotta have an advantage for sure–should be fun to watch. Paired with Mark Ballas (Cheeta girl, Sabrina’s, ex-partner).

Steve Guttenberg–actor; starred in Police Academy, Three Men and a Baby, etc. He’s paired with Anna Trebunskaya (her husband is also on the show: Jonathan Roberts).

Mario–R&B star is paired with Karina Smirnoff.

Marlee Matlin–Academy Award winning actress paired with Fabian Sanchez.

Monica Seles–Grand Slam tennis champion paired with Jonathan Roberts (Anna’s husband).

Marissa Jaret Winokur–Broadway star paired with Tony Dovolani.

Christian De La Fuente–international film star paired with Cheryl Burke.

So, never heard of some of these people; but, I’d never heard of Helio Castroneves until last season either and how much did we all end up loving him!?!  I love that Dancing with the Stars brings people from all walks of life together on the dance floor.
