It is officially over, Fall Out Boy is no more. Two of the band members confirm what we all kinda knew, the band has gone on a “break” Bassist Pete Wentz wrote in his blog
“As far as I know, Fall Out Boy is on break,” Wentz wrote. “I can’t predict that I’d ever play in Fall Out Boy again.”
He also took to his Twitter page saying;
“A hiatus is forever until you get lonely or old, [and] I don’t plan on either,” says Wentz. “Something would have to change in my head or my heart – not my wallet,” he added. “It’d have to be real.”
Also sounding off is Patrick Stump, who told Spin Magazine that he is “not in Fall Out Boy anymore.”

While the two have publicly said they are no longer in FOB, that doesn’t mean that the band wont go on, or possibly have a reunion in the future “One way or another, the band will always be around,” Stump said. Wentz agreed: “There is the possibility that FOB will play again with or without me.” The breaking news prompted some funny tweets, like from Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 “For the record: as of right now, I am also quitting Fall Out Boy.”
Stump has already started working on a solo album and Wentz is looking forward to starting new projects, and possibly touring. Wentz, who has a one year old with wife Ashlee Simpson, says that “I want to be back on tour having my son watch me from the side of the stage.” Sounds good to me.
Are you guys sad for the end of Fall Out Boy, or do you think this is a temporary thing and they will be back together for a reunion tour?
