Heath Ledger’s family drama!!

Posted on 19 March 2008 by admin

Greed is a powerful thing when $$ millions are involved, Heath Ledger’s father Kim is in charge of the estate and apparently has a horrible track record when involving large sums of cash. Heath’s uncles are upset and going to press about the whole ordeal stating they are concerned that his daughter Matilda will not be taken care of. His uncle Mike Ledger stated “”Our only vested interest is to assure that Matilda is well looked after. When you are talking about large sums of money like this, it should be an independent executor, but Kim hasn’t chosen that way.” Horrible that once again money causes more problems. Toxicology Finds Heath Ledger Died of Accidental Overdose

Toxicology report results: Heath Ledger died of accidental overdose

On January 22, our hearts broke and our mouths dropped when we heard that one of film’s greatest young actors, Heath Ledger, had died on the floor in his apartment the previous night.

Speculations went around, as we all tried to figure out what happened to this young man. Was his death an accident or suicide?

Finally, we have the answers. The toxicology reports reveal that Heath died of an accidental overdose due to a mixture of prescription drugs. Something that we all suspected might have happened.

The medical examiner reports state: “Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine,” spokesperson Ellen Borakove released in a statement on Wednesday morning .

“We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications,” the statement added.

The accidental prescription drug overdose in the medical examiner’s description includes the generic names for OxyContin, anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax and sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is used in painkillers, such as Vicodin.

Heath’s father, Kim, released this statement about his son’s death:

“We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today’s results put an end to speculation, but our son’s beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts.

“While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.

“Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two-week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world, Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

“We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

“At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.”

ET pulls the plug on Heath Ledger video

Posted on 01 February 2008 by Syndeee

CNN is reporting that Entertainment Tonight decided not to air a video of Heath Ledger at a party that showed drugs being used (by others) in his presence. ET said it was out of respect for his grieving family that they decided to pull the plug on airing the video; however, it may be more likely that ET decided not to air the video because of all the phone calls they received (because at first request they refused and were going to air it). It is being reported that not only did powerhouse PR firms and studio executives call in to request that it not be aired, but individual celebrities such as Natalie Portman and Sarah Jessica Parker called ET as well.

Heath Ledger

Apparently, in the video, he is never shown taking any drugs, but does say he “used to smoke five joints a day.” He also points to his tattoo of “M” and says, “this is to remind me to never smoke weed again.” (source: CNN)
Seriously, airing such a video just seems like nothing but pure sensationalism–he obviously was not seen doing any drugs, so what’s the point? Who hasn’t been to a party where drugs are present (especially in show biz)?

Johnny Depp to replace Heath Ledger in a movie role

Posted on 25 January 2008 by tammy

Johnny Depp has been asked to replace Heath Ledger in the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the newest Heath film project, due to his untimely, tragic death.

Director Terry Gillimen, hand picked Depp and feels that he will do a great job taking off where Heath left off. Good news is that not all of Heath’s scenes will have to be re-shot. He will still be in the movie.

There is a part in the movie where Heath’s character falls through a magic mirror… this is where Johnny steps in. Johnny could appear as the changed character on the other si

It is so sad to have to think about this, but the show must go on, unfortunately.

Heath Ledger found in his apartment dead

Posted on 22 January 2008 by Syndeee

It is very saddening to hear that actor Heath Ledger, 28, was found dead today at 3:26 p.m. eastern time in his Manhattan apartment. He was an awesome actor that seemed to never get caught up in all the Hollywood Bull*%$!

It is being reported that his housekeeper knocked on his bedroom door to notify him that his masseuse had arrived. When he did not answer the door the housekeeper and masseuse entered the room.

TMZ is reporting that he was “face down on the floor;” however, NY Times is reporting, he was “naked and unconscious on a bed–the housekeeper and masseuse shook him, but he did not respond.”

Police Lieutenant John Grimpal was on the scene and has said that drugs were found, but the type is unknown at this time– it is now being reported that the pills found were possibly sleeping drugs (a medical examiner wil be determining the cause of death on Wednesday).

Heath’s latest movie, “The Dark Knight,” hasn’t hit the screens yet, but he did just finish all the filming. “The Dark Knight” is the sequel to “Batman Begins.” Heath played the prized role of The Joker.

Heath previously had earned an Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain and starred in many notable films, such as, “A Knight’s Tale,” “The Patriot,” and “Monster’s Ball.”

Heath, born in 1979 in Perth, Australia, leaves behind his 2 year old daughter, Matilda. Matilda’s mother is Michelle Williams. Heath met Michelle during the filming of “Brokeback Mountain” (she played the role of his wife in the film). They and their daughter together in Brooklyn until they split up last year.

Undoubtedly, Heath will be missed by many.
