Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen Hospitalized

Posted on 24 October 2008 by Loretta

15 year old Taylor Momsen, who plays Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, was hospitalized on Sunday, October 19 due to a life threatening throat infection.

Dr. Shawn S. Nasseri, who has been treating Momsen, issued a statement on behalf of her family saying,

I am writing this letter at the request of Colette Momsen, mother of Taylor Momsen.

I have been treating Miss Taylor Momsen for the last few days.  She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday.  She has been an excellent patient, and after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days.

Due to Taylor’s hospitalization, CW was forced to alter an episode of Gossip Girl and producers had to rewrite the script on the spot.  Also shooting for upcoming scenes will be delayed.

Warner Brothers and the CW issued a joint statement on Wednesday that said, “Taylor Momsen is a beloved member of our ‘Gossip Girl’ cast and we are happy to report she is on the road to a speedy recovery.  We all look forward to her planned return to work on Friday.”

Amy Winehouse Rushed to Emergency Room

Posted on 28 July 2008 by ksouthall

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was hospitalized Monday night for a reaction to medication, but was expected to be released by morning, Tuesday morning London time.

An ambulance took Winehouse from her north London home to University College Hospital, spokesman Chris Goodman said.

In a statement released by the spokesman and Tracey Miller, Amy’s U.S.-based publicist, said that “Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow.” That would be Tuesday morning London time.

It was the second time in two months that Winehouse has been in the hospital. She was admitted to a London clinic in June after collapsing at home, and father Mitch Winehouse said at the time she had developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine. Winehouse underwent a series of tests but was discharged in time to perform at the Glastonbury music festival and celebrations for former South African president Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.

Enjoy the performance below, it was truly something magical…

Poor Amy has so much potential and was poised to become an international star after she released the Grammy-winning album “Back to Black” in 2006, but her music has been overshadowed by reports of drug use and run-ins with the law.

Amy Winehouse now and then

Here you can see how the drugs have taken their toll. She use to have a cute, healthy figure, and now she is so thin and frail. Her skin is not what it use to be and the toxins have made her hair dry and brittle.

Earlier this year she was investigated by police after a tabloid newspaper published a video that appeared to show her smoking crack cocaine. She ended up not being charged with anything but it was pretty obvious what she was doing.

In April 2008 she was questioned by police for assault after she slapped a man on a drunken night out.

Earlier this month, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for assault and obstructing justice. Douche Bag admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him $400,000 to keep quiet about it.

Winehouse has repeatedly regaled concert audiences with appeals for the release of “my Blake.”

Pictured above is Amy with her parents, sporting a fashionable cheesy hair decoration proclaiming her devotion to that Douche Bag. It seems like the only people that can save her from herself are her parents. Something needs to happen, she has too much talent to throw it all away!

Get better Amy!!

Could he have been dehydrated from his late night partying that began on Thursday and continued until the wee hours of Friday morning at Whiskey Mist nightclub? Is Kid Rock’s age finally starting to catch up with him or did the news of Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson moving in together make him sick?
