Britney Spears headed home to Kentwood, Louisiana this weekend for her little sister, Jamie Lynn’s baby shower.

I wonder how many “y’alls” were exchanged?

Aww, sisters reunited celebrating a teenage pregnancy!

That’s what love is all about.

The baby shower was held on Saturday at Serenity, the home of their mother, Lynn Spears. Papa Jamie was also in attendance, although he had some doubt about Britney attending.

“At first, Jamie [Brit’s dad and also her guardian these days] didn’t think it was a good idea for Brit to go. He thought it might create chaos in Kentwood, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to put Jamie Lynn — or Britney — in the middle of that.

“Britney can’t travel without Jamie’s permission, so she worked really hard to talk him into it; it was so important for her to be there for her little sister. He finally gave in, knowing it’d be good for Brit and Jamie Lynn to finally see each other.”

That would have been totally sad if Britney couldn’t go. Have a heart, dad!

On a completely different note, Momma’s house is pretty nice! Looks like exploiting managing your children pays off!

Mom-to-be, Jamie Lynn Spears, has apparently been sporting some really nice shiny jewelry that appears to be an engagement ring from boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

Spears, 16, has been flashing her new ring to all her friends and family in Louisianan and Mississippi, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

“She’s got an engagement ring,” the source says. “She’s been showing it off, talking about it.”

Spears and Aldridge are expecting their baby this summer. No official word yet on a wedding date for the couple.

I don’t know if I like the idea of Jamie Lynn getting married at such a young age. I think she needs to wait awhile before she jumps into any thing too quickly, again. I mean she could be a mom and a divorcee all before she’s 21. What do you think?

On March 20, Jamie Lynn and Ashton are set to guest star on ABC’s new tv series Miss/Guided.

The new comedy centers on Becky Freeley (Judy Greer), a former uber-awkward teen who’s now returning to her alma mater as the school’s guidance counselor.

According to reports, the mommy-to-be, will be playing a High School senior, named Mandy, who has just gotten excepted to college. Mandy, apparently is the school slut and spends the first 30 seconds of the episode making out with her boyfriend in the backseat of his car.

Before Mandy gets too excited about going off on her own, a substitute Spanish teacher, played by Ashton Kutcher, tells her reconsider her options partly because college will effect the love life she has now.

It has been reported that Jamie Lynn Spears is having a boy!

According to a source, Britney and Jamie Lynn stopped into a baby boutique on Feb 25. The sisters shopped for about 25 minutes and purchased some light blue colored items.

“Britney originally said the items were for herself,” said the source, but the line appeared to be a cover for Jamie Lynn. Among the purchases: organic baby blankets by designer robbieadrian.com, towels and pajamas. “None of the items could have been mistaken for being purchased for the two kids Britney already has,” says the source, who has knowledge of the visit.

This is really really good news. The Spears family doesn’t need anymore women. They tend to be screw-ups and don’t know how to raise or take care of their kids. I’m crossing my fingers Jamie Lynn turns out to be a good mother.

Yay! Congrats to Jamie Lynn for passing her GED! What’s next for the mom to be? Well she says she is hoping to continue her education in Louisiana. She is looking into Louisiana State for college.

“I haven’t thought about what I might study,” she has said. “I’ll have to look more into that. But if I went anywhere, I think it would be fun to go to LSU.”

A family friend tells People magazine:

“She’s already got her diploma,” according to the friend. “Everybody is so supportive of her. She wants to take her ACT. She’s not wasting any time. People don’t know her. When Jamie Lynn gets something in her head, she’ll make it happen.”

Jamie Lynn has been photographed with her mother outside of Tangipahoa Parish School System Adult Education Center, which is a GED preparation site. It so happens that it also has a Title I Parent Center, where they teach parents how to help there children develop learning skills.

Jamie Lynn Spears has made the decision of giving her baby to her mother to raise.

Lynne Spears doesn’t believe that her daughter understands the consequences of being a teen mother, especially a famous teen mother.

Lynne has decided to raise Jamie Lynn’s baby back in their hometown of Louisiana, out of the spotlight, to try and give a normal life.

Lynne says, “she still wants her daughter to be able to be a teenager, go to parties, hang out with friends and still have a career. So she’ll take the front seat of caring for the baby and take the pressure of her daughter.” 

I’m glad that Lynne is helping out her daughter especially during this difficult time. But it makes me wonder if she is really the best candidate to take care of her daughter’s baby. I mean look at the way her two daughters grew up.

PETA has taken the Jamie Lynn Spears pregnacy news and is using it in their “Sex Talk” commercial.

The commercial connects the surprised, unintentional pregnancy of Jamie Lynn to that of the surprised and unintentional pregnancy of pets.

The commercial urges people to have their pets sprayed or neutered.

The 30-second spot features parents who encourage their teenage daughter to become sexually active. When the horrified girl asks, “What if I get pregnant?” the parents urge her to “pop out all the kids you can” and say, “If it has a pulse, you should be wrapped around it!” The ad concludes, “Parents shouldn’t act this way. Neither should people with dogs and cats. Always spay or neuter.”

The ad will air twice each day during Good Morning America from Monday, January 14, to Friday, January 18, on Jamie Lynn’s local ABC affiliate, WGNO.
