Last season’s American Idol winner, Kris Allen, is the latest celebrity to help out Haiti!
The 24-year-old singer is heading to Haiti tomorrow, February 19th, to meet with the U.N.!
He will perform on American Idol on February 25th during the results show and share footage from his trip!
Kris released a statement, saying:
“I’m looking forward to traveling to Haiti to see the U.N.’s work firsthand. The people of Haiti are rebuilding their country, and the U.N. is there to help them every step of the way. I look forward to sharing the images and stories from my trip with Idol viewers across the country.”
The top 10 finalists from this season of American Idol kicked off their nation-wide tour last night in Portland, Oregon, and fans managed to snag videos of the concert. For those of you going through American Idol withdrawal, check out these great performances by your favorite Idol finalists.

In the TV Guide interview, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert talk about their style, about crazy fans, and about the Kris/Adam “Bromance.” Kris admits to having a “crush” on Adam and even puts his arm around him at one point! It’s too cute!
I was actually beginning to wonder about this… if Adam Lambert ever had any crushes on fellow American Idol contestants. There were definitely some good looking guys in the bunch.
Well, now I don’t have to wonder because the answer is YES!
Adam recently told Rolling Stone that although Kris Allen, 23-years-old and married, is straight, he still found the American Idol winner attractive the first moment that he met him. Ironically, the two would become really good friends, room together in the Idol mansion, and make it through to the final 2.
“I was like, ‘Oh, shit, they put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type – except that he has a wife… I mean, he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100 percent straight,” Adam laughs.
Adam tells all in the June issue of Rolling Stone, arriving on newsstands this Friday, June 12th.
American Idol’s Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are still getting interviewed after the controversial win last week. They appeared on ‘The Today Show’ this morning talking about friendship, their album ideas, and how the AT&T voting scandal wasn’t really even a scandal.
I also decided to throw in a little Danny Gokey. He was a guest this morning on Regis & Kelly. Check him out below.

Apparently there are still some people still upset and are trying to figure out how Kris Allen ended up winning American Idol. If you weren’t mad at the results before, you’ll be mad now.
The New York Times published their American Idol win theory last night. According to the paper, AT&T, one of AI’s biggest corporate sponsors helped viewers sway their votes towards Kris Allen. Why you ask? Well probably because Adam is gay.
AT&T is said to have gone to local Arkansas parties held in Kris Allen’s honor last Tuesday night and handed out several of their phones with free text-messaging service as well as teaching customers how to power text, sending out 10 texts at once. The disclaimer at the bottom of the AI screen tells us that this is not allowed.
The company confirms that they did have reps at two parties after the final performance episode last week. They said: “In Arkansas, we were invited to attend the local watch parties organized by the community. A few local employees brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.”
Also, considering only AT&T subscribers are allowed to text in their votes and standard rates still apply, that’s some sketchy stuff.
So far, no Adam Lambert parties have reported the presence of cheater phones.
American Idol favorite and runner-up Adam Lambert performed this morning in NYC for the CBS Early Show.
He talked earlier about his plans for his up and coming debut album:
“Labels tend to try to put one box around every artist and keep them in one genre, but I think [my album] can be a collection of different styles. I don’t want to do one specific genre. I’m more about fusion. There are a lot of pop artists that are using the ‘glam’ kind of vibe in their music currently so I think I’m actually part of a wave. There just happens to not be many guys doing it right now.”
American Idol winner Kris Allen was also in NY today and performed on Regis & Kelly. He also has some ideas about his debut album:
“‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ — that’s the kind of stuff I want to do, stuff that has that feel, that kind of moves people. I’m not a man of many words. I’m not very expressive or emotional but it comes out in my music. It’s the way I express how I feel.”
