Lauren Conrad, of The Hills, has joined Avon brand mark in the fight against dating and partner abuse.
Conrad has joined the ad campaign titled Girls m.powerment, which is committed to preventing dating abuse and partner violence. Lauren stated that,
It is a privilege for me to be partnering with mark on the Girls m.powerment Campaign. Young women between the ages of 16 to 24 experience the highest rates of intimate partner violence. As a twenty-two year old, this statistic made me realize how important it is to let girls my age, know, that they can be empowered to prevent this from happening in their lives.
Lauren Conrad has designed a “Have a Heart” necklace that will sell for $22 each. 100% of the profits from the sell of the necklaces will be donated to the Girls m.powerment cause.
The necklaces, like the one that Lauren is wearing above, go on sale September 16th, 2008.
