Natalie Portman on the cover of Elle magazine

Natalie Portman on the cover of Elle magazine

In the new issue of Elle magazine, the smart, beautiful, and talented, Natalie Portman opens up to the magazine about up coming movie projects, women, ambition, and her own M.O.

Here is part of the interview:

On a party she went to in Hollywood the night before the interview:

“They had a psychic, and he told me my whole life will change when I’m 34 and that I should stay away from water.”

On growing up in Jericho, Long Island:

“[I was] different from the other kids: I was more ambitious. I knew what I liked and what I wanted, and I worked really hard to get it.”

On a few of her political stances:
“A lot of the stuff people say about her, I hear it and my stomach falls because it’s so sexist. You ask people why they don’t like her and it’s because her husband cheated on her! That was obviously not her choice. She’s so much more polished and experienced than anyone else. Last night, a friend, a social worker in L.A. who works with underprivileged kids, was saying how these girls who have never been interested in politics before are so excited that a woman might be president. I mean, look how many women are in government…Hillary’s one of, what, [a handful of] female senators?… I also like Obama. I even like McCain. I disagree with his war stance—which is a really big deal—but I think he’s a very moral person. I met him and Hillary on the same day, actually, when I went to Washington with Finca [a nonprofit that gives loans to businesswomen in developing countries]. Hillary was by far the smartest person I met that day. Just totally focused, and knew more about the issues than anyone else, and was so able to go from one thing to the other.”

Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johannson on W magazine

Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johannson on W magazine

Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johannson are on the new cover of W magazine to promote their new movie “The Other Boleyn Girl” were the girls fight for the love of King Henry the VIII.

Both of Scarlett and Natalie are wearing dark make-up and Miu Miu dresses. The girls in the photos are giving off a very distant, intense look. For as beautiful as these girls are, the photos do not at all enhance their beauty. Quite a disappointment with this powerful duo.

Here is a little bit of the interview in W:

On monogamy:
Natalie:
“I’m into monogamy. But I’m not really into marriage right now. I sort of hate the legal aspect of it. What does the state have to do with it? Why are they making rules that say my lover can stay in the United States if they’re foreign or share my health care benefits because I’m straight — but if you’re gay, you can’t have that?”

Scarlett:

“I’ve been battered for saying that I don’t believe humans are monogamous by nature. The response was, like, ‘What a ho-bag!’ I didn’t mean that I don’t practice monogamy in my own life — of course I do! I’m not going to be in some tarty relationship… I remember another time. I said I get tested for AIDS twice a year, and again that got spun as me being promiscuous. But I was single at the time, and I think it’s important to do that!”

On trying to stay out of the limelight:
Natalie:
“I don’t want people to have a juicy read about me. I’ve been trying to watch more TV [in an effort to better] converse with people. People talk about TV way more than you think.”

Scarlett:
“You’re never going to find me at the Ivy. I don’t care how good the Cobb salad is. These tabloid magazines — I think they’re hideous and the downfall of society,” she said, referring to a recent US Weekly story accusing her of having had a nose job. “It was as ridiculous as if they’d showed side-by-side pictures of me at 11 and 20 and saying, ‘Look, she grew breasts!’”

On who they’re voting for:
Scarlett:
“I will continue stumping for [Barack] Obama until he’s elected. The past eight years have been painful for a lot of people. We’re in a state of emergency.”

Natalie:
“I met with about 10 representatives… and Hillary [Clinton] was by far the sharpest. Did you read Gloria Steinem’s op-ed piece?” Natalie asks, citing Steinem’s January 8 column about the presidential hopeful in the New York Times. “Hillary’s just so experienced.”

Kirsten Has It All… Including Alcohol Addiction

Posted on 09 February 2008 by Syndeee

Next to join in on Celebrity Rehab Circus is Kirsten Dunst!! Our cute Mary Jane Watson has a drinking problem. Dunst also lovingly known as “Kirsten Drunkst” in certain social circles is headed off to Utah to check in to Cirque Lodge. (You may remember that name as it is the same center Lilo checked into…. and now Eva Mendes)

Kirsten Dunst

Oh, what fun group therapies they must be having in Utah. Well we all know how sobriety is working out for Lindsay…. all I have to say is Good LUCK Kirsten.

Kirsten Dunst 2

Dunst has been seen at Chateau Marmont and Roosevelt Hotel getting drunk constantly. Rumour has it that she went down hill after she broke up with long time boyfriend and hottie Jake Gyllenhal. Uh… yeah. I’d drink myself into oblivion too… Oh well Kirsten, you can sleep at night knowing that you’re winning. Oh wait… no. He’s dating Natalie Portman and you’re going to rehab… yeah…
