Well, that was quick!  The highly-anticipated film, Valentine’s Day, is already being turned into a sequel!   Variety is reporting that director Garry Marshall is gearing up for New Year’s Eve, a film that will follow many of the same characters from Valentine’s Day — but on December 31st… and in New York City.

Valentine’s Day features an all-star lineup that includes:  Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey and Jennifer Garner. The film hits theaters this Friday, February 12, 2010.

We like the idea of a sequel and we haven’t even seen the film yet!  This could be the first romantic comedy franchise!

New Year’s Eve is slated for release sometime in 2011.

Travis Pastrana rang in the New Year with a record breaking Rally Car jump.

Rihanna has been asked to tone down her live New Years Eve performance in Abu Dhabi.

According to Britain’s Daily Mirror, a souce says,

Rihanna is tearing her hair out over what to do – she wanted to put on her most eccentric and provocative show yet.

She knows that she’ll have to compromise her style to fit in with local traditions – but a huge part of her show is her sexy stage gear.  The dress code in Abu Dhabi does not encourage excessively revealing outfits.

With a paycheck of $500,000 expected to come with the special performance, I think Rihanna will wear what ever they give her.  What do you think?

Interesting choice.  It was announced on Thursday that Green Day will perform during NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, airing live from Times Square on Thursday, December 31st.

This is the sixth year that the two-hour special is airing.  The show will feature a countdown and the first performances of 2010!

Of having the Grammy winners as guests, Carson Daly said:

“We have built a great tradition of having the best and biggest music acts on our New Year’s Eve live broadcast; having Green Day this year only solidifies that.  I’m beyond excited.  Green Day will make this year’s show a TV event to remember on NBC.”

While doing a standup comedy routine on the Maycraft Carrier cruise yesterday, John Mayer finally addressed that nasty rumor that’s been following him around for a couple years, which is that he hooked up with Perez Hilton.
