Patrick Swayze released a statement earlier this week to let us know that he is responding well to his cancer treatment.

Swayze said,
Thought I’d give you guys a little update. Lisa and I have been back and forth from New Mexico enjoying the arrival of spring and new baby calves. This past weekend, we spent a fun time with friends in Reno for Lisa’s birthday, where I took her shopping at Kenny G & Company and (we) were able to find her something really special and much deserved!

Patrick also stated that, “In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford and the great news is I continue to respond well.”

It is good to see that Patrick and Lisa are still enjoying themselves. Cancer treatment can really take its toll on a person and Swayze has shown us just how strong and determined he can be. He is not letting the cancer rule his life.

Patrick Swayze and wife Lisa Niemi attended Friday nights Lakers vs. Spurs basketball game in Los Angeles, California.

This is Swayze’s first public appearance since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year. You can tell that the cancer has taken its toll on his body, but his spirits appear to be high. Hopefully things are starting to turn in his favor. He appears to be happy and energetic.

Patrick Swayze’s sister-in-law Dr. Maria Scouros, who is an oncologist, said that, “He has strong willpower and he’s a very determined individual. He’s bringing all that energy to bear on it.”

Despite the optimistic reports last month from Patrick Swayze’s doctors and family the beloved actor is preparing for the end.

A source close to the family stated that,
Patrick told Lisa, ‘I will always love you, and can’t imagine how my life would have been without you.’ It was very touching, and it’s part of his final farewell to his wife as the end draws closer.

Recent report suggest that Patrick has already started to transfer his millions of dollars worth of property to his wife Lisa. A friend of the Swayze family told the Sunday paper that,
Patrick told his family he’s not giving up, but he wanted to make sure everything like the will was in place in the event that his health began to fail quickly and he didn’t have time to take care of things.

Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and has been undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. Last month the doctors reported that his progress was “excellent” and that he was responding well to the treatments. This month however, they are reporting that the cancer has spread and that he had to have part of his stomach removed.

I know that weight loss was a big concern at the beginning of his battle and if you compare the pictures from January to recent photos you can tell that he has definitely lost some weight and is very pale. Although it looks like he is losing the battle with cancer his family and his fans remain optimistic.

I became a fan of Patrick Swayze when I first saw him in Dirty Dancing and I have loved every Swayze film since then. He is such a great actor and I still have high hopes that he will be one of the miracle cases that survives pancreatic cancer.

The National Inquire reports that the beloved ‘Dirty Dancing’ star, Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, back in January. Unfortunately, the cancer spread to the rest of organs and the doctors have given him 5 weeks to live.
For the past month, Swayze, 55, has been traveling back and forth to Standford University’s prestigious Cancer Center in Palo Alto for chemotherapy. At this point, his doctors aren’t too optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
He has so far received three treatments of the chemotherapy, and his tumor shrank, but not enough for the doctors to be satisfied. He was thus told to prepare for the end.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
Within the past 2 weeks, Swayze has lost 20lbs and is restricted to a liquid diet because he has problems keeping his food down.
Poor guy. I hope that the National Inquire got this story wrong. How sad. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst cancers there are. Normally no cure. I wish his family well during this hard time.
