Prince Harry Visits NYC

Posted on 29 May 2009 by Tammy Cakes

On his first official day in the states, Prince Harry arrives in New York and starts his day by touring ground zero. He spoke for about 15-minutes to the families of four 9/11 victims and paid his respects before visiting a local firehouse. He than headed over to Hanover Square to plant some trees in the newly-dedicated British Gardens. Tomorrow, Harry is expected to take part in a charity polo match on Governor’s Island. Wow. That’s one heck of a busy schedule.

He says that he is enjoying his trip so far, especially since London is having some rainy weather.

‘It’s beautiful! The sun’s shining!’ When another reporter asked if he’d return to the city, he said, ‘I hope so!’ “

Prince Harry apparently is taking after his mother in his good nature and personable demeanor.

‘I was awestruck,’ Nancy George said of her brief chat with the prince. ‘I always knew he was personable because of his mom but I didn’t expect him to be so open and forward. He’s very likable, very personable.’

‘He seemed like such a normal guy, very friendly very gracious,’ said Maura Sayers, who helped draw his attention by waving a British flag. ‘He definitely has his mother’s charm.’ “

Nintendo Wii: Good Enough for Royalty

Posted on 10 January 2008 by Cindy

Forgive me for not posting on anyone particularly sexy today but it’s not everyday that the Queen of England discovers the remarkable joy of Nintendo. According to British newspaper, “The People,” her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has taken over sexy Prince William’s Christmas present: A bright & shiny new Nintendo Wii (he’s going to inherit Britain, but the Wii just sweetens the deal! And BY THE WAY, if William got a Wii, I’m sure Harry got one too because they’re so rich that surely “sharing” isn’t in their vocabulary).

Ok, so anyway… how Her Majesty has avoided original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Game Cube is astounding… yet in 2008 at the age of 81 she has decided to join the world of hard core gaming (ok, not really but we can pretend for now). I guess 8 bit Mario just doesn’t have the same panache as 3D “live action” boxing matches. Not to mention you can customize characters so she could be pretending to knock out the late Princess Di (oh, my gosh! I said it, let’s move on).

Just the idea of anyone’s grandmother picking up the Wii is asinine. Why pick up a video game console where you have to move around when for the last 20 years you’ve had plenty of gaming choices where you could park your butt on a couch and have your thumbs control all the action? Yes, yes… you can move around… it’s 3D… blah blah. Give any 80 year old the choice to fall asleep while watching reruns of “Murder She Wrote” or run around the room… uh… choice is clear. I’m just saying… she’s one zany granny!
