Kelly Ripa and husband Marc Consuelos have teamed up with TLC to co-produce and star in a new reality tv show. TLC’s president Angela Shapiro-Mathes first met the couple back when they were all working for ABC. Ripa and Consuelos met on the set of the soap opera All My Children and Shapiro-Mathes was their boss.

It is rumored that the couple was not just hired to star in their own family reality show, but to help develop multiple projects for the television company.

TLC must need to boost their ratings real bad because this is the second celeb family reality series that they are planning to air this upcoming season. The first is with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

According to People.com, Jen has signed with TLC to co-executive produce, co-create and star in the “docu-series,” which will focus on her being a new mom, her superstar career, and launching her new fragrance.

“I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together,” she said of teaming with the cable network.

“Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience,” TLC’s President, Angela Shapiro-Mathes said in a statement.

I’m sure Jennifer is only doing this to put herself back in the spotlight, but I think she is crazy for wanting to do a reality show so soon. Handling new born twins and a career is, I’m sure, exhausting enough. But then to add cameras and attempt to be entertaining, that is just too much.
