E! News has confirmed that Californication star, David Duchovny, has checked himself into rehab for his sex addiction.

“I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction,” Duchovny said in a statement released Thursday by his attorney, Stanton “Larry” Stein. “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

This 48-year-old actor, who ironically plays an over-sexed struggling writer on Showtimes hit show, has been married to actress Tea Leoni for 11 years and they have two children Madeline West and Kyd Miller.

“All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time,” Richard Licata, the network’s executive VP of Corporate Communications, said in a statement to E! News.

The second season is set to premiere on September 28, and all 12 episodes have already been shot and are ready to air.

This is not the first time Duchovny’s ’sexual appetite’ has been questioned. In an interview for Playgirl magazine in 1997, he said,

“I’m not a sex addict. I have never been to those meetings. It’s hurtful to my family and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her.

“There was another story claiming I was a neat freak. If I had to choose one of the two, I think I’d rather be a sex addict. It’s not funny and I’ll be glad when it goes away.”

Uncomfortable as it was for Leoni, she tried to squash the rumors in Elle magazine back in 1998.

“David was accused of being a sex addict,” Leoni, who had been married for one year at that point, said. “Which I always found very exciting. And then I found out it wasn’t true.”

“Men are like bulls,” she continued. “They gotta get the new cow. Maybe you’ve got to get the bull after he’s had a lot of cows, so you might just be the last new one.”

Well, I hope rehab really helps David because I really like those two and it’s sad to see (what seemed to be) a perfect couple go through such a battle.

Has Aerosmith’s frontman, Steven Tyler, walked his way into rehab?

So he has confirmed he checked into rehab earlier this month, but, contrary to speculation, the singer says he was there to aid his recovery from a series of surgeries on his feet, which have taken quite a beating over the nearly 40 years he has been rockin’ out.

Are you serious? This is a total old person move. Is this superstar getting soft on us?

In a statement released by his reps Thursday, Tyler said:

“The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected, but it would require a few surgeries over time. The ‘foot repair’ pain was intense, greater than I’d anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet. Make no mistake, Aerosmith has no plans to stop rocking. There’s a new album to record, then another tour.”

Um..is ‘pain in my feet’ the new code for alcoholism or substance abuse?!

Am I missing something?

But Tyler did not say whether his fake stint in rehab occurred at Las Encinas Hospital, where Dr. Drew ministers to substance abusers on Celebrity Rehab and where Tyler was rumored to be staying.

So there may be some truth after all.

But there also are plenty of other places besides rehab facilities to rest up and stay off your feet, Steven.

You’re filthy rich. Go buy an island or something.

Leave rehab to Britney Lindsay the people who really need it!

Kirsten Dunst explains her stint at Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah was for depression and not for drugs, as the rumors would have you believe. Kirsten stated that she is better place now and is able to speak out, where as before when she was in treatment she kept silent because she couldn’t talk about it. She is saying a whole lot now!

I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge. There’s been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life, and this has been very painful for my friends and family.

The starlet had waited 6 months before seeking help and her doctor was the one that recommended the treatment center in Utah made famous by treating Lindsay Lohan last year. Kirsten says that first and foremost she wants the world to know that celebrities are not different than anyone else and that “we are all in the same boat.” Depression can affect anyone.

Best of wishes Ms. Dunst, for continued health and getting the help you need.

Steve-O is the latest in a string of celebrities toenter rehab.  Just one week after being involuntarily committed to the infamous Cedars-Sinai Medical Center due to suicidal behavior, Steve-O says, “I’m no tready to die. I’m ready to live.”

In his recent MySpace Post Steve-O gives detailed stories of drug use and claims that his parents fed him alcohol as an infant. He claims that Mothers alcoholism left him powerless over alcohol. Okay, Steve-O your mom’s to blame for your alcoholism, but did she feed you drugs too? You led yourself down this path…lots of people have had bad beginnings in life–now accept responsibility for your actions & move on!

It has been nearly six months since Lindsay Lohan left Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah. Now she is opening up to People magazine about how some bad decision-making put her into rehab and about who has been her biggest support since she checked out of the rehab facility.
“I think it was just situations that I was putting myself in,” she told PEOPLE at a photo exhibit last week at N.Y.C.’s The Atelier. “I was putting myself in the wrong situations and I didn’t have the focus in the right place.”

The starlet also said she keeps in touch with the friends she met at Cirque Lodge and that her family has helped keep her on track.

“My family has always been important to me and they’ve always supported me,” said Lohan, who reunited with her estranged dad, Michael, while in rehab. “I’m blessed to have a really wonderful family.”

Career Revival

Since leaving rehab, Lohan’s career seems to be back on track. She’s recording a new album and begins filming the Jack Black movie Ye Olde Times this spring. “I’m excited to go and do a comedy,” she says.  In addition, Chapter 27, with costar Jared Leto, is set to open later this month.

Lindsay isl also starting her own line of leggings. Lohan told Life & Style, “It will be a while before it comes out, but I’m going to do it. Some of them will have prints and some will have patterns. I love leggings.”

It’s a good thing that Lindsay is back to work because reports say that she may be running low on cash.  In Touch Weekly outlined some of her spending and the magazine concluded that Lohan has paid more than $315,000 on rehab stays and more than $1 million on hotels (in particular, they point to the $2,700/night suite at the Chateau Marmot where Lohan lived for a time). And although her rep denies Lohan’s cash situation and spending habits, In Touch shows a stunning budget line for tanning: The magazine says that she spent a mind-boggling $70,000 alone on her sunshine in a bottle!!

Grammy nominated singer Amy Winehouse was denied a US visa. She was getting the visa so she could perform at the Grammy’s Sunday night. Because of this unfortunate circumstances, it appears that  Amy may be performing via a satellite link-up. It’s not known whether the link-up will be from her rehab clinic or not.

US immigration is not giving out any information as to why the singer was denied. But some sources claim that her concerts have been rubbish and that it would take a whole army of immigration officers to check that outrageous beehive hairdo of hers to make sure that she is not hiding any drugs in there.

In case you hadn’t read, Amy was arrested in Norway last year for possessing controlled substance and in the UK, there have been many allegations made over Amy and her drug problems.

As with most immigration decisions, Amy had the right to appeal but decided that it probably would be best if she stayed in rehab in the UK.

“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.”

In the March 2008 issue of Britain’s Glamour magazine, Lindsay Lohan opens up to the readers about her party girl image, how it feels to get back to work after six months of rehab, and how she plans to get rid of all the bad influences in her life.

On getting rid of bad influences:
“There are friends that have been hard to hang out with because they’ve gone done a different path. But it’s hard because I’m the kind of person who wants to trust everyone.”

Lohan empathizes with fellow troubled socialites, Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse, who are having trouble staying in and out of the lime light:
“I’m fine being alone during the day, but I hate being alone at night. I like having friends around me, but now I’d much rather be at home.” Due to her new life style change, she points out that she now has more hours of the day to write in her journal and watch tv. “That’s not to say I’ll never go to a club again,” she says, “because I’d be lying.”

When asked what the biggest misconception others have of her is:
“that I don’t have my head in the right place. That, and probably that I’m not a good person … because actually I am.”

Grey’s Anatomy star, Justin Chambers, voluntarily admitted himself into UCLA Medical Center earlier this week due to a sleeping disorder and exhaustion.

But no one was more surprised than we were than fellow co-star Katherine Heigl- who heard the news from the paparazzi.

TMZ has footage of shocked Heigl when they asked her about her co-star. They star made a phone call to double-check to see if the rumors were true and hung up the phone looking rather dumb-founded. Heigl refused to answer any questions as she walked away distraught.

Justin has since been released from UCLA, right before Brit entered.

And surprisingly the beautiful Eva Mendes checked herself into the Cirque Lodge in Utah, the place Lindsay Lohan went for several months last year, for substance abuse problem, a couple of weeks ago.

Eva’s publicist released this statement, “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva’s privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details.”
