Sarah Palin’s Son is Deployed to Iraq

Posted on 25 September 2008 by Loretta

Track Palin, the 19 year-old son of Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has been deployed to Iraq.

Although the exact date of Private First Class Palin’s departure was not released, we know that he boarded a charted 747 along with several hundred other infantrymen headed for Kuwait.  Once in Kuwait, Palin and the rest of the infantryman will undergo training and administrative processing before they are officially deployed to Iraq.  It is believed that Palin’s unit is being sent to the fourth most violent post in Iraq, Diyala.

When he arrives in Diyala, Palin will not receive any special treatment and will be in charge of operating a 19-ton, eight-wheeled armored vehicle known as a Stryker that will provide security for brigade leaders.

Matt Damon Calls Sarah Palin’s Candidacy ‘Absurd’

Posted on 14 September 2008 by xXxTerra

You can add Matt Damon to the list of Sarah Palin haters, alongside Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson.  Damon lets it all out during a taped interview with Associated Press, stating that he believes it would be “absurd” if Palin became the Vice President of the Untied States: “She would be facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s totally absurd.”

His concerns are not based on the fact that she is a female, but that America hardly knows about her, besides the fact that she has been the governor of Alaska for the past two years and that she is a proud hockey mom who fought the “good ol’ boys.” (btw- who are these boys she’s referring to??)

“You do the actuary tables, there’s a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn’t survive his first term, and it’ll be President Palin… it’s like a really bad Disney movie.”

Damon goes on to say, “I think that pick [Sarah Palin] was for political purposes. But in terms of governance, it’s a disaster.”

Watch him rip her apart during his interview:

It’s really refreshing to watch a celebrity interview that discusses important issues in current events.  Not to mention, he sounds intelligent and seems to actually know a thing or two on the subject.  He’s using his celebrity to voice concerns that many Americans have with the the Republican nominees.

How do you feel about Matt after watching the interview?

Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson Get Political

Posted on 14 September 2008 by Loretta

Who knew Sam Ronson and Lindsay Lohan have a political opinion?  In a recent MySpace post, the couple share their opinion of Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for Vice President.

UH OH!

Current mood: shocked

I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.

I couldn’t be more supportive of a women in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.

Is it a sin to be gay?  Should it be a sin to be straight?  Or to use birth control?  Or to have sex before marriage?  Or even to have a child out of wedlock?

I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor.  Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006… And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard.  This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.

Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, concern, Disappointment, and stress come into play….

Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobes?

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president….

Palin’s desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??

According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” - no kidding.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ? Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer.

You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality, according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed since she was a child.

Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice.  She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.

I feel it’s necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or women.

Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And it’s frightening to see that a women in 2008 would negate all of that.

Oh, and…Hint Hint Pali Pal- Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!

And in the words of Pamela Anderson, “She can suck it”…

Lindsay-”I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance.  I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for obama!”

Samantha- “I love this country-however i wasn’t born here and don’t have the right to vote-so i beg of you all to really do your research and be educated when you cast your vote this coming november…and if you’re in doubt- vote for obama! Mainly becasue if she gets elected my green card probably won’t get renewed!!!”

xoxo

Lindsay and Samantha

Wow! That was one long MySpace post/rant.  Proper guidance?  Educated?  “Suck it?”  I think they are the last people who should be giving political advice.  First of all, saying “She can suck it” doesn’t sound very educated… and I guess Lindsay and Sam were too busy to take the time to even capitalize names of important political figures (i.e. ‘obama’), so who are they to say make an educated decision.  As for advice on proper guidance, Lindsay influences little girls around the world because, if you haven’t noticed, kids look up to celebrities not politicians these days, yet that didn’t stop her from endangering others by driving while intoxicated or from underage drinking and drug use.  Also, I sensed a little bit of jealousy from this post. I think Lindsay is upset that her and Sam were replaced by Sarah Palin on the tabloid covers.  However, I do agree that Sarah Palin should stick to politics and forget about T.V. shows and tabloids, but Lindsay needs to focus on her career and stay away from giving political advice.

17 Year Old Bristol Palin is Pregnant

Posted on 01 September 2008 by Loretta

Bristol Palin, the daughter of Sarah Palin, is pregnant.  Sarah Palin, who was named John McCain’s running mate last week, issued a statement regarding her teenage daughter pregnancy to rebut lies that her son Trig is actually her grandson.  Sarah Palin said,

We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our hearts and mean everything to us.  Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned.  As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.  Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family.  We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”

That had to be heartbreaking news to the McCain staff.  I wonder if he knew about the pregnancy before he chose Palin as a running mate.  Do you think this is going to affect his campaign?
