Deandre Cortez Way aka Soulja Boy Tell’em, was arrested in an Atlanta suburb Wednesday night, after running from police.
According to Henry Country Police Captain Jason Bolton, the 19-year-old rapper was detained when then the Georgia police responded to a report of juvenilles hanging out in an abandoned home in McDonough, GA.
When the officers arrived on the scene, they found 40 people standing in the dark backyard behind the house.
“You couldn’t really tell what was going on,” Bolton said. “But about half of the group ran from the officer on foot. He ordered, of course, for them to stop. … There were several vehicles left at that location.”
Bolton says when the officers spoke to the remaining individuals they claimed that they were all gathered their for a video shoot.
While investigating the scene, the police found that one of the people who fled was Soulja Boy, who eventually retuned to the house to claim his white Ranger Rover.
Upon his return, the police charged him with one count of obstruction, a misdeamenor, for running from police when ordered to stop. The rapper was released on $550 bond yesterday morning with a follow-up court date.
