Gossip Girlstar,Taylor Momsen, is opening up about her smoking, her celebrity status and her music in a new interview with Parade.

‘I smoke, so what? Why do people give a s— what a 16-year-old girl who they’ve never met does? It’s not like I’m sitting there going, ‘Kids, you should go buy a pack of cigarettes.’ When I walk outside with a cigarette and someone takes a picture of it and puts it on the Internet, its not my problem. I’m just living my life and I’m not gonna live my life for other people.’
‘I’ve done an album. Music is where I can be me. I really do it because I love it, honestly. It’s what I want to do with my life. I mean, it’s my only goal. Acting is easy. I’ve been doing it for so long and I totally love it. But you’re playing a character instead of yourself. Music is more personal because you’re writing it and you’re involved in every step of it.’
‘I don’t read that crap that describes me as having an attitude, but I don’t know why that’s a bad thing. Attitude is in the eye of the beholder. I didn’t get into this to be a role model for 7-year-olds. I have no interest in doing that, you know? If parents don’t like some of the stuff I do then they shouldn’t let their kids watch me. I’m not Paris Hilton. I don’t really care about being a celebrity.’
‘It comes along with the territory so you can’t totally avoid it. But there’s a difference between doing the red carpet and having people invade my personal life taking pictures of me. And that’s why celebrity is so stupid. You don’t want to become something that a few million people watching your show want you to be. I want to be who I am because, if I lose that, then what am I doing this for? It’s not about fitting in. If you don’t fit in as yourself, then you don’t fit in.’
Hm. ‘Little J’ is an interesting one, isn’t she? Hard to believe she is JUST 16 years old!
Taylor Momsen has been receiving a lot of negative attention lately and she’s speaking out about it.
Taylor stated,
Online, there’s a thousand people who are just so mean. There are so many negative comments about just the pettiest things that you can’t even read it…. My favourite blogs are where you get the mothers saying, ‘She’s the worst influence on my daughter, I would never let my daughter dress like that,’ or ‘This girl is such a whore, she’s a slut.’ And I’m, like, you’re a mother! And I’m 16…
To be honest, I don’t f**king care. I didn’t get into this to be a role model. So I’m sorry if I’m influencing your kids in a way you don’t like, but I can’t be responsible for their actions. I don’t care.
The Gossip Girl star also talked about how happy she is to have lost the role of Hannah Montana, she was one of the final three actresses in the running, to Miley Cyrus.
Taylor said,
Honestly, if I’d have ended up as Hannah Montana, I don’t know if the show would have gone as well. I probably would have told them to all to go f**k themselves by the time I hit 11. And I don’t know how that would have gone down. It’s great for Miley, but I really like where I am right now and I feel really fortunate to be able to really be myself.
All I can say is, thank goodness Miley got the role of Hannah Montana because Taylor’s bad attitude and dirty mouth would not have been good for Disney. Miley’s messed up a couple of times, but there isn’t a wholesome bone in Taylor’s body.
Taylor is not happy that Gossip Girl has been playing Leighton’s music on the show, and they have never asked to play any of her songs. It’s creating a lot of tension on set.
Two of Leighton’s songs, Good Girls Go Bad and Somebody To Love, have been played on the show this season and her video for Somebody To Love premiered on Gossip Girl. Not one of Taylor’s songs has ever been used.

As for why Leighton’s music is being used and not Taylor’s, a rep for CW told HollywoodLife.com, “The show will support Taylor and her music when the time is right, but her music is not ready yet.”

The cast of Gossip Girls can’t stop hooking up on and off screen.Recently reports have surfaced that Chace Crawford, 23, hooked up with his underage co-star, Taylor Momsen, 15, at the Gossip Girl holiday party.
Spies at the Dallas airport caught Ed Westwick (Chuck) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) the stars of Gossip Girl taking the same flight home together for Thanksgiving and passing the time with a little PDA at the airport.
