Before there was a such a thing as Edward vs. Jacob or the Twilight Saga, Taylor Lautner was just a toddler in diapers. . His dad was an airline pilot and gone frequently which left Taylor and his mom to themselves. The two spent a lot of nights at his aunts house close to their home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On one of those nights a blazing electrical fire started– and within moments their home and most of their belongings were gone.
What was left were ashes and a few charred possessions.
Taylor remembers that night even though he was only 3-years-old!
The police called and told us our house had burned down. If my aunt hadn’t invited us to sleep over….well, wow.
Thankfully Taylor lived in a close-knit community and soon donations of all sort were given to his family.
Everyone pulled together for us.
It sounds like Taylor and his family pulled through this tragic time.

Hollywire.com’s Jaclyn Mullen got to catch up with Selena Gomes’z favorite band, Forever The Sickest Kids, right as they finished their “Cheap Date Tour.”
Forever The Sickest Kids have been around for less than a year but you’d never know that. The band has already performed during the Thanksgiving Half-Time Show for the Detroit Lions , maintained a strong following of celeb fans (Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Joel Madden), and, aside from that, their photos have also graced the glossies. Forever The Sickest Kids have been featured in US Weekly, OK Magazine, People.com and Seventeen just to name a few.
Forever The Sickest Kids chill in Cali
The Dallas, Texas based band consists of 6 members: Guitarist Marc Stewart, drummer Kyle Burns, guitarist Caleb Turman, bassist Austin Bello, keyboardist Kent Garrison and singer Jonathan Cook. And as you’ll see in our video, Forever The Sickest Kids are more than musically talented. These boys have comedic chops, big hearts and dance skills too.
In 2010, the band is applying a “forward thinking move….forgoing the traditional road to making records.” Instead of making a full album follow up to Underdog Alma Mater, the band will complete a 3-part series of 7-track albums by end of 2010. The first of this series was released just this past Novemeber, entitled, The Weekend: Friday; the other two: The Weekend, Saturday and The Weekend, Sunday, will both be out next year!
Whatever they do, we know Forever The Sickest Kids are super talented and will be around FOREVER! Follow them on twitter @OFFICIALFTSK
Forever The Sickest Kids are currently involved with a charity called “Blood Water“, which “empowers communities to work together against the HIV/AIDS and water crises in Africa.”
Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester are two of the hottest names in young Hollywood. Best known for their roles on Gossip Girl, they recently took some time out to discuss goblins, ghosts and ghouls from their days back in high school. Apparently Penn and Leighton have some frightening Halloween memories from their teenage years.
Penn's photo on the left is from his teenage days.
Penn recently sat down with MTV news and recalled a costume that didn’t necessarily vibe so well with the ladies. “I was 14 years old and … went to [Burbank, California, costume shop] Cinema Secrets and I got a big old prosthetic scar and blood dripping from my face done so that it looked really nice,” he told MTV. “It was the worst idea ever because it turned off literally every girl at the party… and I was 14, thinking I was so hot. It was terrible. It was the worst idea I ever had.”
Leighton loves costumes.
As for Leighton, who grew up in Florida, her Halloween horror included a home made hula costume that she wore on a night when it was extremely cold. To help keep her warm, she wore a sweatshirt and sweat pants along with the hula outfit.
With all the success of Gossip Girl, we’re sure that Penn and Leighton will have some sizzling hot costumes this year. In the meantime, we’ll try and find the pictures of the costumes they described here. It just goes to show that even Hollywood stars have awkward teenage moments.
Long before Zac Efron rode in an eco limo, before Hayden Panetttiere wanted to save the Dolphins, Ally Maize-founder of the Green Youth Movement was trying to help teens go green. It certainly doesn’t hurt now that stars Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Emma Watson have started driving hybrid cars which helps reinforce Ally’s message.
Ally is passionate about the environment and taking a stance towards global warming. She founded the Green Youth Movement as both a “resource for people seeking information and for those people who want to try to make a difference and help the environment.”

Just this past weekend, Ally and the Green Youth Movement held a waterless car wash to raise funds for their highschool. And they aren’t stopping there. Future events include a green fashion show and green halloween event.
Ally Maize, center, gets by with a little green help from her friends.
And here’s a fun teen green tip of the day from our friends at Seventeen Magazine-”Donate to Locks of Love. Your hair won’t be thrown away and you’ll help a girl in need.”
Selena Gomez may be a teenager, but don’t mistake this Disney starlet’s ability to impact more than the many fans that follow her movies, television show Wizards of Waverly Place as well as her musical act as a rock singer.
The world may not know it yet but Selena Gomez is a TOTAL star who also wants to use her fame for great causes to impact the globe too.
Yes, SelenaGomez can now add philanthropist to her resume of diverse talents. According to Ecorazzi.com , “Selena is the youngest UNICEF Ambassador in history. In September she spent some time in Ghana, West Africa where she witnessed poverty on a whole new level.”
This very trip inspired Selena to help UNICEF raise funds, $1,000,000 to be exact, which she would like the foundation to have so it may help Ghana prevent children from dying due to illnesses that could have been avoided. We hope the world will get behind this goal and support Selena Gomez and UNICEF.
UNICEF stands for the United Nations Children’s Fund and is based upon focus areas which include child survival and development, HIV/AIDS and child protection.
In addition to her work with UNICEF, Selena has participated in some green initiatives on as well. From recycling to gardening to her fundraising work for great causes, Selena Gomez sets such a great example of giving back and going green!!

Hollywire spent another great weekend hanging with the stars at the Baby and Tween Celebration in Los Angeles!
The Baby Tween Celebration was an event for companies to promote their new products for babies, tweens, and soon-to-be moms. Sooo many celebrities turned out for this event! They put on musical performances, signed autographs, and hung out with fans. Some of the stars that performed were:
Austin Anderson:
Austin is an amazing singer!! You can check Austin out at www.myspace.com/austinandersonmusic or his personal video blog right here on Hollywire.
Daechelle:
Daechelle is a very talented girl who’s song “Fearless” was in the Bratz movie. She was also the official celebrity blogger of this event! Check out Daechelle at www.myspace.com/Daechelle.

There was plenty of charity work being done at the event. Celebs autographed the Kids Crooked House and Daisy Rock Guitars, which were later auctioned off.
The stars were given gift bags filled with all kinds of goodies.
Radio Disney was a huge hit with the little kids that came to the expo. They played games and gave away prizes.
Dekoposh is one of the wonderful companies at the event. They put on the Jeans Bring Dreams program where stars write their names and dreams on a pair of jeans.
The Deko and Posh characters spent the day walking around greeting kids.
Dekoposh also had a thing called Build your Own Purse, the purses were super cool. Check them out at www.dekoposh.com.
At the end of the day one celeb, Austin Anderson, was kind enough to pose with the moms-to-be gift bag which happened to be a diaper bag from Style Cafe Moms (www.stylecafemoms.com).
This was one amazing event! I had so much fun and I know the stars did, too!
Happy Valentine’s Day, all you singles and non-singles!
The G-Girlz (Keana and Savannah) ‘rocked the block’ in Beverly Hills at their Rockin’ Valentine party at an awesome mansion in the hills of 90210 to raise money for Cupcakes for Cancer, a charity founded by 13-year old chemo-therapy survivor, Blakely Colvin.
Tons of tween/teen stars in Hollywood were there to support the cause–Mandy Jiroux, Daniel Samonas and Jake T. Austin of Wizards of Waverly Place, Brittany Curran of Suite Life, Zachary Hopkins, boy bands Varsity Fan Club and WOW, Sabby and Mandy, Lissa Lauria, Malese Jow, J McCoy, Katie Gill, Bella Thorne, Sterling Beaumon, and so many more that I can’t even mention!
It was a dessert wonderland in there! Cupcakes & Co is my new favorite dessert spot (the owner is SUPER sweet, too)—their strawberry cupcake was love at first bite… like, seriously! Mandy J said hers was the red velvet. I pigged out on everything (and so did everyone else), then danced on a sugar high and watched the G-Girlz perform. Who needs a Valentine when you have all that??
Watch my PINK carpet interviews to find out what all the celeb guests said about their “dream Valentine” and get inside the mansion party!
