Candy Spelling Sends Snotty Letter About Tori To TMZ

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Tammy Cakes

candy-tori-spelling-feud

The never ending battle between Candy and Tori Spelling is still going strong and in this new round Candy is the first to lay down the punch.

This time in order to gain the public’s sympathyCandy issued a letter to TMZ titled ” MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)”, where she explains why she decided not to make an appearance at her granddaughter, Stella’s, first birthday party.  In short, because she didn’t want to be a part of the reality show storyline.

(Via TMZ:)

EXCLUSIVE TO: TMZ.COM
TO: MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)
FROM: CANDY SPELLING

I Know many middle-aged people have issues about their parents and their upbringing. I did. My memories didn’t match all those of my mother, and, funny thing, it’s the same way with my daughter.

Life has consequences. What you say is on the record. Other people have feelings.

I have a vested interest in this subject. My daughter, Tori’s, two-part season finale revolves around my granddaughter’s first birthday party and how she has made what seems like an agonizing decision to invite me.

Cue music. Cue sideways glaces. Cue [sic] Lights.

I did get an invitation just in time for the RSVP deadline. I’m sure its delivery will be on next week’s episode with some comment about my house or driveway or street or something they won’t like. I wonder if that will be spread out over one part or two. Sigh.

A big party wasn’t how I envisioned meeting my granddaughter for the first time; but, hey, this is Hollywood, and my grandchildren have become reality show props, too. At the time I emailed “yes,” I didn’t realize I was being set up for a two-parter, even though it was clear I was being invited to be part of a segment for my daughter’s reality show.

Spoiler alert. Don’t read this if you plan to sit through an hour of people looking at their watches and saying “she’s late.” I decided my first meeting with my granddaughter should be on home video, not primetime cable; so I emailed that i would not be attending.

Back to other reality stars. My husband taught me that the plots have to be fresh and updated. The same old whining gets tired after a while. Enough complaining about what may or may not have happened during first grade or YMCA camp, or what vegetable you were forced to endure, especially when you are privileged enough to be on TV and get paid for it.

For all the reality show personalities, please remember that real life doesn’t get edited to make things better or worse or get better ratings. You’re responsible for what you do. Life isn’t just a show. And your families can’t just be props. Make your own season finale without creating conflicts you will regret later.

I don’t understand why exactly Candy doesn’t make an appearance on her daughter’s show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. No matter how many times she tries to justify herself and the decisions that she’s made about Tori, Tori will always win because we see her more, feel we know her more, and with the show and her books it just feels like she would never lie to us about what is really happening.

I understand why Candy didn’t go to Stella’s birthday party, in some sense, meeting your granddaughter for the first time should not be done on public television. But than again if she really wanted to meet her grandchild nothing should stand in her way.

Candy Spelling Blames Tori For Aaron’s Death

Posted on 28 May 2009 by Tammy Cakes

I am not a fan of Candy Spelling in any way, but man that woman is a b**ch and has one mean bite. I know Candy and Tori are having major problems in their relationship, but their feud has totally gotten out of control.

Appearing on a Massachusetts radio station Thursday to promote her new book, Stories from Candyland, Candy not only bad mouthed her only daughter but went as far as to say that Tori was responsible for her father’s death. That is such a low blow and so uncalled for, the witch.

“My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years,” Candy said to 94.7 WMAS-FM’s Kellogg Krew.

“And it was sad, that’s what killed my husband actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He has just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.”

Aaron Spelling died June 23, 2006, following a stroke; angst was not listed as the official cause of death.

“I’ve always been trying to work on the relationship. I don’t know what the anger is,” Candy adds.

Um, call it a hunch but maybe its your bad attitude and calling her a patricide. That could make me not want to talk to you for… let me see… FOREVER!

LA Times Book Fair Appearances: Tori Spelling, Brooke Shields, and Kristin Chenoweth

Posted on 27 April 2009 by Jyl

Oops! I said "Boobs!"

Oops! I said "Boobs!"

This weekend was the LA Times Book Fair, and some of Hollywood’s lovely ladies came by to  show the world their writing skills, as well as a sense of humor.

One of the featured guests was Brooke Shields, who recently wrote a children’s book titled, “It’s the Best Day Ever, Dad!”  She read the book to the audience and then fielded questions, but one of the best parts of her appearance was before she even sat down; for some reason, she kept commenting about her “windy boobs”, and in the picture on the left, she finally realized what she was saying and said, “Oops!  I said boobs!”  I guess when you’re a supermodel, even a 43 year old mom model, the only thing you have to worry about your boobs being is windy.

She also mentioned that when she played Hannah Montana’s mom on the show, her daughter went up to Miley Cyrus and told her that Brooke was her real mom.  That’s pretty cute.

Tori Spelling was another celebrity guest, and in true diva fashion, arrived for her interview 30minutes late.  Surprisingly, Tori was very down to earth (and very skinny, BTW.  Those pics aren’t lying).  Her book, Mommywood, sounds pretty self-explanatory; as a child to Hollywood players and a Hollywood parent herself, Tori knows the ropes of what it’s like to be and raise a kid in Hollywoodland.  But did you know that some of Tori’s favorite memories include her picking up dog poo with her dad?  I bet you didn’t (and maybe you didn’t want to know).  She says that “everyone is going to think I have a poo obsession” after reading Mommywood (good?  bad?  funny?).

But she is so realistic about what it’s like to be in the public eye; stating that she did the “Tori and Dean” reality shows because her “life was out there anyways.”  She knows that she is fair game to the paparrazzi, but states that “it’s difficult when you have children involved.”

It’s also no secret that her mother and her have a strained relationship, and Tori would like to have her mother involved in her children’s lives, but is adamant that her mother must be the one to reach out directly to her instead of taking the indirect media route (BTW, Candy Spelling was at the book fair the next day, and her crowd was substantially smaller than Tori’s).  But her children have a family beyond blood, revealing that her kids have a lot of “guncles“, or “gay uncles”, who love to spoil the kids.

"I'm Fun-sized!"

"I'm Fun-sized!"

One of the real treats of the day was Kristin Chenoweth, who recently wrote A Little Bit Wicked.  Seriously, Kristin is incredibly charming and fun, and loves to show of her amazing talent at trilling.  Lots of little girls wanted advice on how to get to where she is, and her answer was that if they could find something else that they could see themselves doing, do that instead, because her work is incredibly hard work.

“The business is hard,” she said, “But if you can’t see yourself doing anything else…go for it.”  Kristin herself wanted to be a ballerina when she was little, but because of flat feet and an undeniable tininess (she’s 4′11”!), she had to give up her dream.  But in terms of height, she said, “I’m fun-sized!

The best part of the day was at the end of the Q&A when she sang a spontaneous, a capella version of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” for all her Wicked fans.  It was so good I got chills, quite literally.

So those where the highlights of the weekend.  If you haven’t been to the LA Times Book Fair before, you need to make it a priority next year.  It may be centered around books, but it’s full of stars.
