Today Amy Poehler has confirmed to The Associated Press that she’ll be joining The Office spin-off, which will eventually take her to primetime and retire from Saturday Night Live.  Well, actually, it’s not a spin-off at all, but humor me…

Poehler has been a part of the SNL cast since 2001, and in the past years she has served up laughs as a co-anchor with Tina Fey and currently Seth Meyers on “Weekend Update.”

But don’t expect her to jump ship just yet.  A few days ago she also confirmed to Variety.com that she will be back for the 2008- 2009 season of SNL.

Besides SNL, Poehler has been a numerous films- from the more recent Baby Mama to comedy classics like Wet Hot American Summer.  And there are a slew of other movies and television appearances in between those two.

Poehler told The Associated Press that:

“I can kind of confirm that I will be working in some capacity on that show.  I don’t really have any other details yet.”

Even though she isn’t confirming any deets right now, it is being rumored that she is expected to star in the new show.  The hush hush series will air on NBC on Thursdays after The Office starting in the Fall.

With this new addition, will you be watching?  Or will you stick to the original Office crew?

Who would have thought that a guy working as a Disney Imagineer would star in a television show on HGTV?

But who would have thought up his next career jump:

Former host of HGTV’s Design on a Dime, Lee Snijders, has started his own porn company!

This interesting decision is being reported by TMZ, and also mentions that Snijders can be seen “manning the camera” in a few of the movies his company has already made.

This leads me to wonder if his girlfriend had anything to do with his recent career move.  He is dating Jett Angel, porn star and “model.”  She may have been the only girlfriend ever in history to possibly encourage her boyfriend to make this risque jump to a new…um…career….

I mean, how can a guy who worked for Disney…then HGTV, now be making porn?  Those are like two of the most wholesome companies ever!  Only in America, I guess.

I thought hell would freeze over before Tyra Banks would win any kind of award for her talk show. Well, at least any positive ones.

Tyra won a Daytime Emmy for ‘Outstanding Informative Talk Show,’ beating out Dr. Phil. Yes, you read that right. “Outstanding” AND “Informative.”

So, this HAS to back my theory that the show is supported by dirty, lonely old men who are A) collecting unemployment, or B) work the night shift at AM/PM.

After, of course, first thanking God, she made a shot-out to her “mentor,” Oprah.

“I want to thank Oprah Winfrey for her inspiration,” Tyra said. “She is the queen and will always be the queen.”

Nice try, Tyra, but modesty is not your strong suit. Suffice to say, she will not be letting her viewers, or America for that matter, forget this moment.

While on a crazed hunger-induced search for a pancake place on Melrose Blvd. on Monday morning at about 10:30ish, I was lucky enough to spot Johnny “The wind beneath my wings and implants in my calves” Drama, a.k.a. Kevin Dillon of Entourage, shooting a scene for the series’ upcoming fifth season. The scenes were shot at Earth Cafe in Hollywood.

Although the LAPD were guarding Dillon’s side of the street like hawks, I got a semi-good glimpse of Drama in what appeared to be some sort of pow wow lunch meeting that the Entourage boys know how to do best. He was looking overly-tanned yet toned like always.

For those NOT in the know, Kevin Dillon, real-life brother of Matt Dillon, plays the brother of “Aquaman” star Vincent Chase (played by Adrian Grenier).

Thanks to the 100-day-long writers strike that killed this past TV season last November, this is the first summer in many “Entourage” fans have to suffer through the heat of summer without HBO’s half hour comedy but thankfully, they now look on schedule to return with new episodes in September.

Summer just started for UCLA students (Screw you, quarter system!), but I can’t wait for fall to see what the new season has planned after the fourth season’s cliff hanging finale when Vinnie’s new film “Medellin” crashed and burned at Cannes.

Fans of “Lipstick Jungle” will be happy to know that Robert Buckley (a.k.a. shirtless hottie Kirby Atwood) will be the new Levi’s celebrity model.

For those of your who’ve missed out on Lipstick Jungle, here are a few highlights from the show…

….thank God I tivo’d that show…. I rewound that scene a few times… I don’t think anyone can blame me for that.

Season 2 is coming back in fall. Let’s hope Kirby Atwood makes a return. In the meantime, I’ll be looking at him in Levis ads and waiting for his upcoming movie “Flirting with Forty” with Heather Locklear.

It’s no secret that Hollywood celebrities love their drugs. No one knows Hollywood drug addiction better then Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Dr. Drew is back in another VH1 special premiering on Thursday, June 5th at 9PM to discuss drug addiction epidemic in Hollywood.

“He investigates some of Hollywood’s most disturbing drug stories, reveals some common celebrity personality traits that can trigger addiction behaviors, and he offers commentary on some of the most troubled celebs.”

Dr. Drew took us into the emotionally raw and painful process of drug rehabilitation in his series “Celebrity Rehab.” Although it was a hard to watch the stars on the show struggle with their addiction (ex. mostly comatose Jeff Conway), it was fascinating to watch the process and to really learn what it takes to take a stand and resolve to get off drugs.

Among the stars being discussed in the VH1 special will be Amy Winehouse (a.k.a. the new trainwreck version of Britney Spears) and Lindsay Lohan. By the way… LiLo is reportedly back on the sauce. Stay tuned. Also, the special will feature extended interviews with Mary Carey and Seth “Shifty” Binzer from the first season of “Celebrity Rehab.”

And as much as we like to watch the stars do crazy things and gossip about how “out of control” they’ve become, we still root for them when they do decide to get help. Thanks to Dr. Drew we have some insight into the challenges of staying off drugs.

What have all the famous mafia movies taught us?

That family always takes care of you.  In this case, they are putting clothes on your back. Clothes they have actually worn!

James Gandolfini, better known as Tony Soprano, is auctioning off 24 outfits worn in character on HBO’s hit series, The Sopranos.

All of the proceeds will benef the Wounded Warrior Project, which assists severely wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Among the gangster-esque items set to be bid on at the Christie’s auction are the button-down blue shirt the James donned in the opening credits, the tan bathrobe with lavender trim and “S” insignia Tony wore to fetch his morning paper and feed his ducks in the pilot episode, and the pièce de résistance, the blood-spattered black and beige polo shirt, white tank top and black pants Tony wore while being shot by Uncle Junior.

The actor’s contract allowed him to keep the clothes after the show ended its six-season run last year.  All of the clothing items have been personally donated and authenticated by Gandolfini.

I love it when a (pretend) mafia man has a heart!

The pop culture auction will take place on June 25th, with estimates for the costumes starting at $500. Gandolfini’s wardrobe, which includes many outfits with the original production tags attached, is expected to bring up to $36,500.

Another 37 costumes worn by other lead Sopranos characters, including Paulie Walnuts, Christopher Moltisanti and A.J. Soprano, also are being sold, though the proceeds from those sales will not benefit the Jacksonville, Florida-based veterans’ organization.

Could it be that Vince’s Entourage is getting a little bigger??

Yes, it’s true.

I don’t know how this is happening, but Shad Moss, or as we know him- the rapper Bow Wow, is joining the fifth season of HBO’s Emmy-winning series.

He will play a stand-up comic named Charlie who becomes a new client of E’s (played by Kevin Connolly).

I never knew Bow Wow was a comedian.

Maybe he is just that good of an actor.

Like many musical artists before him, Bow Wow (who decided to take the Lil’ off his name a few years ago) is looking to make the transition from rapper to actor.

I hope he knows he has an uphill battle ahead of him.

“After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I’ve decided to shift my energy to something else I’m passionate about, acting,” he said, “I’m going to try to be the next Will Smith.”

But it seems as if that is the only link between the two. Smith also started off as a rapper before taking a chance at acting. I guess Bow Wow just has to prove he has the same acting chops as Smith, let’s hope that shows on Entourage.

The 21-year-old rapper also landed a film role opposite Forest Whitaker and Isaiah Washington in the sports drama Patriots.

This Weinstein Company flick is about a high school basketball team in post-Katrina Louisiana.

He has also appeared in films including Roll Bounce and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and on TV’s Ugly Betty, Smallville and Moesha.

I love Entourage so I hope Bow Wow doesn’t ruin it for me or anything.

Does the thought of this young rapper joining the cast turn anyone off to the show??

Last year Victoria Beckham guest starred on ABC’s hit show, Ugly Betty.  Now it looks like she is gonna pull a Britney Spears on How I Met Your Mother and return for another guest spot!

Except she’s upping the anty- it’s being reported that she is returning next season with a regular guest spot on the show.

The last time she was on the show was November.  She was Vanessa Williams’ character’s maid of honor.  And she even played herself… what a diva!  No word yet on if she will be playing herself again for the upcoming role.

You didn’t see that when Naomi (or maybe even Lindsay- if she actually gets to) guest starred!  Go Posh!

This time around, Britney Spears isn’t leaving a bad taste in the How I Met Your Mother star’s mouths.

After her last appearace, Neil Patrick Harris wasn’t too thrilled that she had guest starred anyway. He wanted Spears to be banned from the television set. He said he had nothing against the pop singer personally, it’s just that he doesn’t think the show should bring guests aboard for a ratings boost alone.
“I’m in the minority that our show does not need stunt casting in order to succeed,” Harris declared to The Associated Press in an interview last month.

Well he can eat his words now, because the two seem like they have gotten a lot closer. You might even argue they would make a cute couple, I mean, if they ever dated, but I can dream, can’t I?

I think Britney looks absolutely gorgeous in this picture! It’s been a while since we’ve seen this softer, innocent side of her. And it’s been a long time since I’ve seen her hair look this good too.
