Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black of New Moon

Before there was a such a thing as Edward vs. Jacob or the Twilight Saga, Taylor Lautner was just a toddler in diapers. .  His dad was an airline pilot and gone frequently which left Taylor and his mom to themselves.  The two spent a lot of nights at his aunts house close to their home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  On one of those nights a blazing electrical fire started– and within moments their home and most of their belongings were gone.

What was left were ashes and a few charred possessions.

Taylor remembers that night even though he was only 3-years-old!

The police called and told us our house had burned down.  If my aunt hadn’t invited us to sleep over….well, wow.

Thankfully Taylor lived in a close-knit community and soon donations of all sort were given to his family.

Everyone pulled together for us.

It sounds like Taylor and his family pulled through this tragic time.

Eclipse hits theaters July 30th, 2010!  Are you excited?

Remember Me star Robert Pattinson (or R-Patz to you!) opens up in an interview with Parade Magazine. Robert, who is best known as Edward Cullen from the Twilight Saga, discusses how when it comes to dating, he is very different from the character he plays in Remember Me.  Here are some highlights from the interview.

“When it comes to the opposite sex, I’m not as fully confident as the guy I play. I don’t even remember the last time I asked someone out on a date, like, just went up to them and that’s the first thing I did. I’m much more self-conscious and not wanting to fail. So I tend to hold back.”

On what he learned from so-star Pierce Brosnan

“We went out to dinner in a restaurant full of all these guys who looked like bankers or brokers. They didn’t recognize me, but they recognized Pierce. And he said, ‘Notice those people looking over?’ I’m sitting there getting more and more self-conscious, even though I didn’t realize they weren’t looking at me. Suddenly, Pierce got up and introduced himself to everybody in the restaurant. At first I was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re like completely insane.’ But it worked. Everybody just relaxed and stopped staring and you could tell they were going to go home and say, ‘Pierce is such a nice guy.’”

On being compared to James Dean

“I think he was like the most influential person for young guys, especially actors, in the last 50 years. So yeah, I mean, I’m not ashamed to say I am very much influenced by him.”

In a second part of the interview, Robert defends New Moon saying;

“I didn’t like the way New Moon was treated by the critics. I think it was reviewed in the context of just being a big franchise movie. When something is so hyped, inevitably, there is a backlash against it. I think Chris Weitz is an amazing director. I really enjoyed the film. So the naysayers kind of annoyed me.”

Pattinson was noticeably absent from the Oscars, leaving Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to work the red carpet alone. Robert is currently in London riding the Twilight wave of success and is very busy jumping right into his next project, Bel Ami, staring Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci.

Remember Me stars Emilie De Ravin, Robert Pattinson and Pierce Brosnan it opens March 12th.

Taylor Lautner opened up about his idea of a ‘perfect girlfriend’ to Bop magazine!   PS:  He claims he is single right now!

Here is what he had to say:

“It depends on the girl. I don’t exclude anyone. There’s no one in particular right now, but I’m a teenage boy, so I date.”

“I want her to just let loose, be a dork and have fun. If she can make me laugh, the spark’s there.”

So, how is HE compared to his Twilight character, Jacob Black?

“If you like someone who’s your best friend, who you can talk to about anything and you’re super, super close, then Jacob is the guy. But if you like the more mysterious type, Edward if your man. I could definitely go for a mysterious girl myself.”

It isn’t enough to have mega talent and fame, they have to sing too!  Twilight and now The Runaways co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, lend their voices for the Atlantic Records movie soundtrack.  The Runaways soundtrack features some original songs, as well as four covers.  Dakota Fanning, who plays Cherie Currie, sings on the four covers.  Kristen Stewart plays Joan Jett and joins Fanning on two of the four songs, ‘Queens of Noise’ and ‘Dead End Justice.’

‘The Runaways,’ which premiered at Sundance, is set in Los Angeles during 1975 when the punk scene was beginning to emerge.  Perfect setting for Joan Jett and Cherie Currie to rise to fame playing in seminal all-girl band, ‘The Runaways.’  Also in the movie is Michael Shannon (that crazy guy from Revolutionary Road), playing Kim Fowley, who is a huge influence on the rock band and plays a key part in their success.  The rock legend Joan Jett herself commented on how impressed she was with Kristen’s performance.

A special movie premiere will be set at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas.  Cast and crew is expected to attend, so prepare for a Kristen Stewart or Dakota Fanning sighting!

Atlantic Records says that this is the first time the girls have contributed to a movie soundtrack.  I do remember Kristen singing in the Oscar Nominated ‘Into The Wild,’ but was not on the soundtrack, as it was all Eddie Vedder.

In a statement to the UK Sun, Robert Pattinson confirms that he and his Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart, are indeed a couple.

Robert said,

It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes.

We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans.  It goes crazy.  This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible.  We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy.

We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.

The appearance Robert is talking about is the UK’s BAFTA Film awards, which took place on Sunday night, February 21st.  Rob and Kristen had planned on arriving together, but at the last minute decided to go separate.  The did however leave together.

This may be the one thing that brings a truce between the ‘Harry Potter’ fans and the Twihards! Bonnie Wright (from ‘Harry Potter’) and Jamie Campbell Bower (’Twilight Saga:New Moon’) have confirmed their relationship! Although many of us suspected such back in October when the two were filming part one of the final installment of the Harry Potter films, even though they were denying it back then. Maybe it just took time to blossom?
Wright confirms in an OK! UK magazine interview,

“Yes, we’re dating. We’ve been seeing each other for a few months, it’s good. We’re going to the BAFTAs together on Sunday.”

We can’t wait to see them walk the red carpet together, congratulations to the happy couple!

 Taylor Lautner is 18 today!!! We have jammed this post up with all the steamy pics we could find.  The Twilight hottie said that he will be doing something low key for his birthday, probably have a small gathering with family and close friends. What ever he does, the Hollywire girls wish him a happy 18th birthday!

Taylor surprised us all in ‘New Moon’ when he revealed his new Jacob Black as a lean, mean, fighting machine!

The latest installment of the ‘Twilight’ doll franchise is non other then Mr. Jacob Black himself, and get this, it actually looks like Taylor Lautner!  Shocker, I know.  MTV got a sneak peek at the hard plastic likeness and twihards every where are taking hammers to their piggy banks!  This cute little number will set you back a bit, the retail price for the collectors item is $149.99.

This ain’t your kid sister’s doll!  The 17 inch hard plastic action figure, being produced in limited numbers (3000 to be exact), comes a few months after Tonner debuted its Laurent, Victoria, James and “Hungry Edward” dolls during last July’s Comic-Con. The doll is not yet available, you can however, sign up for the Tonner newsletter to get an email when it is available for purchase.  Wonder if the other members of the wolf pack will be immortalized in hard plastic too?

I don’t know about all of you, but we are super pumped for Eclipse!  The opening date is June 30th, right in time for summer so all you twihards can spend your summer packed in an air conditioned movie theater basking in Robert Cullen’s brooding smile and Jacob Black’s rock hard abs.  Eclipse was one of the better books and I am excited to see it brought to the big screen.
