Denise Jonas, mother of the Jonas Brothers, opens up in Good Housekeeping’s July issue about her sons celibacy vows.
In the interview she makes it clear that she knows that one day her boys will have sex.
“They are men. They have desires. They have testosterone,” she says. “If they make a mistake, I’m not going to hate them.”
Denise also admits that she knows that being as big as they are that there will be a lot more temptation for them to try to resist than normal, like a charm, alcohol, and boobs.
“I don’t think they are above or below being seduced,” Mrs. Jonas says. “I would be foolish if I thought that. They are tested and tested, like every one of us. I pray for them.”
Denise is mad at the media for ridiculing her boys for standing up for their pre-marital sex rules. Kevin, 21, Nick, 19, Joe, 16, have all caught flack from comics such as Russell Brand, and TV shows such as South Park – for their purity rings
symbolizing their vow of virginity.
“They’ve been criticized for proclaiming things they never proclaimed. And what’s the criticism? They don’t want to go out there giving everyone an STD? What’s so terrible about that?”
“They have been hurt in relationships by girls,” she said. “But it’s just about growing up and learning
what it means to be in a relationship.”
“I try to guide them with their choices.”
