If you're upset about "Die Young" being played on the radio, don't blame Ke$ha. She didn't even want to sing it!

At least, that's what she's claiming now. Her latest single, which reached as high as No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, has nothing to do with violence or guns, but it's still a sensitive spot after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary last week. Numerous radio stations have since pulled the song, and amidst the backlash, Ke$ha now says she was forced to sing the song. "I had my very own issue with 'Die Young' for this reason," she tweeted last night. "I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and was FORCED to."

It’s a really bad time to have a single called “Die Young.”

Thematically, Ke$ha’s first Warrior single doesn’t have any more to do with the tragic events that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut last week than One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young.” It’s just another celebration of seizing the day while we can. But given its provocative title, the single has seen a steep decline in radio play since Friday.

We can always count on Ke$ha to do something provocative and out of the box. When the Cannibal singer releases a new music video, you know it's not going to be full of rainbows and unicorns ― at least, not unless there's also lots of violence.

So is it any wonder she plays the leader of a Satanic cult in her "Die Young" video?
