Kelly Clarkson announced on her Twitter page over the weekend that she is engaged to boyfriend Brandon Blackstock. Brandon popped the question after just over a year of dating. "I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night!" she tweeted. "I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)"

When it comes to her personal safety, Miley Cyrus really doesn't kid around.

Jason Luis Rivera was sentenced to 18 months in jail after being convicted last month of trespassing and resisting arrest when he hid in the bushes of Miley's home with a pair of scissors last September, told police they were married and then refused to comply with officers. But having him locked away in an 8x10 cell doesn't seem to be enough protection for Miley. She obtained a temporary restraining order last week against Jason which prevents him from being within 1,000 yards of her at all times and is now seeking to make that order permanent, according to Huffington Post.

Canadian rockers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have managed to pull off the impossible in Hollywood: announcing their relationship and engagement at the same time!

The pair have been quietly dating for the last six months ever since Chad helped Avril write a song for her upcoming album, but Avril’s rep told People Magazine that the Nickelback frontman proposed two weeks ago after busting out a 14-carat diamond ring!
