The big night is almost here!

Which night, you ask? The Golden Globes? The Oscars?

Okay, so maybe it’s not exactly the biggest night in Hollywood. Harvey Weinstein isn’t losing any sleep over whether or not his movies will win, and old Best Actress nominee of all time Emmanuelle Riva most likely won't be in attendance. The MTV Movie Awards is the awards show where Oscar-caliber films like Silver Linings Playbook and Django Unchained fight for the title of Movie of the Year alongside less-highbrow fare like Ted and The Avengers, and things shake out a little differently than they do when statuettes are doled out by the Academy.

In fact, along with such traditional categories as Best Male/Female Performance, the MTV Movie Awards are known for making up new categories virtually every year, with this year’s awards for Best Shirtless Performance, Best WTF Moment, and Best Scared As Sh*t Performance representing categories we don’t think will be added to the Oscars any time soon. And given how much fun this can be, we’ve decided to suggest a few bonus categories ― and guess at who would be nominated.

Hey, did you hear who won big at the awards show this weekend?

No, for once, we’re actually not talking about the Oscars. It’s the award show that Argo and Lincoln weren’t qualified for, though that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some overlap in prizes.

Jennifer Lawrence added an Independent Spirit Award to her trophy collection (which now boasts a shiny Oscar), and Matthew McConaughey ― snubbed for his charismatic turn in Magic Mike ― turned that into a victory with a Best Supporting Actor win.

We’re heading into mid-February now, which means spring is right around the corner. But we’re not in the clear just yet, as the East Coast can attest. A little blizzard named Nemo is threatening to dump many, many inches of snow on cities such as Boston and New York. (And worst of all, maybe even cancel Justin Bieber’s Saturday Night Live appearance!)

There’s a good chance many East Coast-dwellers will be holed up for the majority of this weekend, huddled under blankets with the heat blasting. To help them keep warm, we’ve assembled a list of some of the roastiest, toastiest flicks we've seen to keep them company.

Steven Soderbergh isn’t too shabby at assembling crush-worthy casts, from the hunky crew of Ocean’s Eleven to the drool-inducing gang from Magic Mike. So it’s no wonder that these fellas occasionally fall for each other behind the scenes, too ― at least in a friendly “man-crush” sort of way.

Channing Tatum recently revealed during press for Soderbergh’s new thriller Side Effects that co-star Jude Law is his latest man-crush. But does Jude feel the same way?

In the hands of most filmmakers, Magic Mike wouldn’t have been Academy Award-winning movie. But in the hands of Steven Soderbergh, whose Erin Brockovich snagged Julia Roberts an Oscar, it just might be. Matthew McConaughey’s supporting role in the male stripper flick has just picked up more Oscar heat, thanks to his Best Supporting Actor win from the New York Film Critics Circle.
