Bob Irwin says Goodbye

Last month Bob Irwin the 68 year old father of the late Steve Irwin and the founder of the Australian zoo decided to walk away. Irwin stated in a interview with ABC news that, " It's a strange feeling to spend half your lifetime building something up and walking away from it." Bob Irwin said, " I was becoming a disruptive influence, not that I meant to be." Steve Irwin's widow Terri issued a statement saying, "I just can assure everyone that I love Bob dearly... he's gone through so much grief losing his (first) wife and his only son that I will respectfully leave it at that." Terri Irwin and the Australian Zoo are also facing a court battle over an alleged $2.4 million owed from past debt. The court date has been set for some time in October 2008. Bob Irwins departure and the lawsuit do not appear to be connected and Terri Irwin has dismissed rumors of plans to sell the Zoo.
