Britney Spears Case Declared Mistrial
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Steele declared a mistrial in Britney Spears' driving without a license case on Tuesday, October 21st. For some odd reason, this case made it all the way to trial, but in the end, the jury could not agree on a verdict. Even after the judge allowed for additional closing arguments and two days of deliberations, the jury remained deadlock 10:2 in favor of an acquittal. The charges against Britney stemmed from an incident in L.A. last August in which she hit another car when she turned into a parking space. Britney claimed that she had a Louisiana license and that Louisiana was considered her permanent residence.
Britney plans on returning to her home state of Louisiana and is having a new home built there, but the plans have been put on hold because she has not regained custody of her boys Jayden James and Sean Preston yet.Britney's lawyer, Micheal Flanagan, stated,
Today's outcome shows my client did nothing wrong. I consider this a victory. Britney was vindicated in that she took on a system that attempted to make an example of her celebrity.
It's about time one of Britney's lawyers won a case and earned their money. I bet she was shocked she finally beat the system. What do you think?
