DWTS' Karina Smirnoff Hosts 'A Night for Change' Benefit
Dancing with the Stars' professional dancer Karina Smirnoff (who, btw, looked amazing in a short red and black dress!) hosted an elegant, star-studded benefit to launch her new Dance Intervention program--a division of Alternative Intervention Methods (A.I.M.)--last night at BLVD 16 inside Hotel Palomar. The Karina Smirnoff Dance Intervention is designed to help at-risk youth redirect their energy to dance rather than violence, which is A.I.M.'s main objective: to promote artistic expression as a way to handle problems as opposed to choosing violence, drugs or other destructive forms of escape.
The Kardashian sisters made it out to support their girl Karina. Both Kim and Kourtney looked fabulous in skinny jeans and boots, and we give Kim's hairstylist major props on her bangin' bangs and shiny long locks.
The members of the Dancing with the Stars tour cast made it out, including Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Kym Johnson, Alec Mazo, and Edyta Sliwinska--all stunning in person! Other celebrity guests included: Quincy Jones III, Jeremy Ali, Norwood Young, Chewy Bravo, Ashlan Gorse, Candis Cayne, Judy Tenuta, Miss America Kristin Haglund, and Lorielle News.
There was also a special performance by Mathis Ameen. She is an amazing live performer, so watching her sing and play inside such an intimate setting was a huge treat. To quote one of the guests: "If she sounds this great in a restaurant, imagine what it would be like to hear her on a real stage!"
