Is This Paris Hilton's Future?
Lisa Espil of Texas had 20 dogs and 2 puppies all crammed into a mid-sized car & she locked the doors as authorities approached her to serve her a warrant. She and her 22 dogs had been living in the vehicle for the past 2 weeks and the car reportedly smelled horrific due to urine and feces. Apparently she had been evicted from her residence and therefore parked her car on a dirt road. A concerned neighbor eventually called authorities and since the following statements have been reported:
"I never saw her mistreat them, because she always carried them water and food."
"I guess she stayed warm with all the dogs because you could see her snuggled up in the morning with the dogs laying on top of her. It was a sad, sad situation."
Neighbors also say the woman suffers from dementia. She is not being charged with anything and is currently in the care of Adult Services.
"The car was soaked with urine and covered in feces. The ammonia level in the vehicle was 23 parts per million even after the doors had been opened for several minutes. Asa a frame of reference, humans start experiencing health issues at 12 parts per million," Courtney Steven, SPCA of Texas.
The dogs were all taken to a shelter. A judge will decide who gets custody of the animals on Feb 16th.
This pic with the puppies really gets me...so, I guess I really shouldn't joke about Paris' future as this particular situation is really sad for the doggies & sad for the woman, but hopefully they'll all be getting the care they need now.
