Kiefer Sutherland turned himself over to the police yesterday afternoon at the New York First Precinct where he was charged with misdeamenor assult. Keifer was arrested earlier this week for headbutting fashion designer Jack McCollough at MET ball after party for pushing Brooke Shields.
Brooke Shields claims that McCollough did nothing wrong and blames the fall on a combination of factors, including her six-inch heels, the late hour and the fact that it was crowded and dark at the party.
Kiefer was fingerprinted and photographed, then able to leave after two hours at the station. Keifer is due back in court June 22.
Normally a third degree assault charge is not a big deal in the eyes of the court, but unfortunately for Keifer, he has other legal issues to deal with. He is currently on probation for multiple DUI offenses, served 48 days in jail last year, and could end up serving a year behind bars and be levied a $1,000 fine if the court is not sympathetic.
