Autopsy tests, including toxicology screens, will be done all day to day to determine the real cause of Michael Jackson’s cause of death. But it is rumored that Michael Jackson’s cardiac arrest may have been the result of using Demerol, a powerful synthetic narcotic drug.
Michael started receiving pain killers back in 84′ when he was rushed to the hospital after his hair caught on fire on the set of his Pepsi commercial. Years later he suffered from performance injuries after falling off a stage and breaking a couple of ribs and started reusing.
According to Brian Oxman, a Jackson family spokesman and lawyer, “I can only tell you that this is not something which has been unexpected.” He went on to say, “This family has been trying for months and months to take care of Michael Jackson. The people who have surrounded him have been enabling him: if you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing to what we have seen taking place in Michael Jackson’s life.”
Oxman says he warned everyone around Jackson about the effects of this drug’s abuse. Demerol is a narcotic that requires close monitoring for side effects, and in particular respiratory depression. If mixed with other pain killers it may cause nervous system depression and increase the chances of cardiac an respiritory arrest. MIchael Jackson collapsed shortly after taking this injection.
