Miley Cyrus gets sent to timeout
Disney came out today and said that Miley Cyrus won't be attending her first scheduled public appearance since the infamous Vanity Fair photoshoot.

Yes, those photos… the ones that have thrown her status as a role model for young girls into question.

The 15-year-old "Hannah Montana" star has been scheduled for weeks to appear at a red carpet event today.
But Disney confirms she is no longer expected to attend.
She was to appear at a media party in Orlando, Florida today, but no word on if she is doing something instead. But I would venture to say she’s at home feeling a bit sheepish.
Disney did not elaborate Thursday on the change in Cyrus' status for the party. Of course they wouldn’t! But it looks like Disney execs think little Miley needs a big timeout from the spotlight.

The Vanity Fair photos, showing Cyrus' bare shoulders and back, were taken by renowned celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
There has been extensive media coverage about these photos, some people not seeing the big deal and others expressing their outrage.
However, Leibovitz and the magazine defended the pictures, saying the singer, her parents and her handlers approved of the images during the shoot.
I really think this whole scandal is getting a bit out of hand. I think we all need to reevaluate the standards we put forth about young girls and the pressure they feel to look and act sexy.

I don’t know, but I’m starting to feel bad for Miley. Anyone else?
