Patrick Swayze Makes a Surprise Appearance
Patrick Swayze received a standing ovation from a surprised audience when he appeared on stage at the EIF "Stand Up To Cancer" fund-raising special. Swayze's appearance had a special meaning for many because he himself is fighting cancer. Charles Barkley said,He looks amazing. For me seeing Patrick Swayze, someone who is actually fighting the disease, was the best part of the show. Seeing him in person was amazing. He just came up to me and said, 'hi.' We talked about how he was doing. He said he's doing well. He said that he's even gone back to work.
Noreen Fraser, a cancer survivor and a producer for "Stand Up To Cancer," told People magazine,
I just had to think him for his appearance. His appearance put this event over the top. He told me, 'There was no way I was going to say no to this."
Cancer has affected so many lives and seeing Patrick Swayze come out on stage looking strong, healthy, and happy can only give cancer patients and survivors hope. Cancer survivors Christina Applegate, Sheryl Crowe, and Lance Armstrong along with many other celebrities also attended the T.V. fund-raiser to help raise millions of dollars for cancer research.
