TMZ Busted Again: Wrong Michael Phelps

We reported yesterday that TMZ reported that Olympic medalist Michael Phelps owes a lot of money on his taxes, to the tune of $23,289.16.

However, TMZ has since retracted their statement, after finding out that they busted the WRONG MICHAEL PHELPS.

There is a Michael Phelps who owes over $23 grand on his taxes in the state of California, however it's not the swimmer Michael Phelps.

    This is totally awesome. As if it wouldn't be bad enough to be named Michael Phelps but not the famous one, THEN to have your indiscretions made national news! I love it! I can just imagine all that guy's friends and family!

    "Hey, did you hear? Michael Phelps is a deadbeat! He got caught owing money to the IRS and driving without a license and smoking weed!"

    TMZ needs to fact check before they go after stars like michael phelps get it together guys!
